Do BTS deserve a daesang this year?

    I sense some fear from armys about breaking their streak...


    SOTY is out - I doubt they will even get a nomination. I think Love Dive/After Like, Attention, Tomboy, Pink Venom, and That That will be nominated, and G-idle will win it.


    IVE deserves Artist of the Year, no competition.


    AOTY may also not be in the bag if BP end up selling 3M+ and their album does similar to The Album and their previous EPs in terms of Korean charting. Then again, BP is likely not going to any award shows ever again. But there is also NCT who are probably going to break their own record and sell over 3M as well

    BTS will still win that Artist of The Year award. That anthology album sales will count for the award shows. Even if they don't, it will be either NCT or Blackpink. You guys overestimate Ive's popularity way too much. SOTY and ROTY is possible for you guys though.

    Armys dgaf about daesangs...lmao. BTS have not even released proper music as a group this year. Kpop stans can enjoy their faves getting some wins in BTS' absence.

    Them being from a smaller company they are one flop away from dropping off everyones radar so I'm rooting from them

    BTS have crushed the competition since 2017. Have gotten awards from western shows. I think they're good with the rest of the industry being allowed at the table now.

    They can only win Artist of the Year and Album of the Year at MAMA

    People here really think IVE fans believing a group with 2 back to back #1 hits and already selling close to or 1M albums despite not being a year old yet winning ArOTY is more delusional than army thinking BTS deserve it for...what exactly? Yet to Come was out-charted by like 10 girl group songs in Korea and out-streamed globally by Blackpink. Proof is coming to be out-sold by NCT and most likely BP as well too. The only way BTS wins ArOTY is if those army ass-licker judges on the MAMA panel pull for them (which is definitely a plausible scenario)


    Aespa won Artist of the Year at GDA, and arguably their 2021 was not as big as IVE's 2022. I don't see why IVE shouldn't win it tbh...only BP selling 3m+ and their title track + bsides being a hit in SK could challenge them

    People are underestimating IVE.

    They had 3 consecutive hits in Korea with After Like surpassing Attention and Pink Venom and achieved several raks, all this while Love Dive still is comfortably at #7 on melon top10.

    In only 8-9 months since debut, they already sold 2 million of copies with just SINGLES.

    And as the cherry on top, they are only behind kpop titans BP and BTS internationally.

    They deserve aoty just as much, they did more in a couple of months than other kpop groups take years to achieve.

    GDA Disc Daesang is a 100% lock if Proof is eligible.

    MAMA Album of the Year is a lock, 60% of the criteria is sales and that can't be swayed like the judge panel.

    MAMA Artist of the Year is likely.
    MAMA Worldwide Icon is likely as well, people are focused on the website voting and don't realize that BTS is still pulling good streams for YTC on Spotify.


    They won't win any MMA daesangs.

    GDA Digital daesang will go to IVE for Love Dive.

    And with SMA giving the daesang to NCT 127 last year despite BE being eligible and Butter/PTD being huge singles, that's completely up in the air.

    KMA gives it to whoever they want, so no use discussing them.

    Proof was outsold by nobody, you are way too overconfident in BP and NCT.

    You overestimated BLACKPINK and NCT 127's sales, understimated Stray Kids and Seventeen, they will sell 3M before the first two.


    Neither surpassed Proof, in the end of the day. So unless BTS isn't elegible for ALOTY, they will be rightfully getting it.

    Only maybe album of the year at awards. Song or artist? Definitely not as others have done better
