Why SM artists always start a generation strong but their prime time is short-lived?

  • TVXQ started the 2nd gen but BB stole the spotlight and out impacted them even until today

Same with Exo starting 3rd gen but BTS stole the thunder and become much more popular and iconic

Should we worry for Aespa now? Aespa also started the 4th gen shift with a national hit but there're already signs that others will surpass them soon... is this SM's curse? Discuss :/

  • aespa will be like RV, good, but not great to be 1st

  • Love how op conveniently ignores snsd who’s the biggest gg in korea and reigned for a long time lol

  • Laziness to promote the group they have instead of debuting a new one. EXO was never really promoted in the west for example. Not saying they'd have become as big as BTS but if SM hadn't decided to debut NCT and focus on them instead EXO would likely have peaked for longer

  • snsd is an anamoly in SM

and they’re still an sm group so what’s your point? op made a huge deal about the “sm curse” making all their groups short-lived but snsd is right there to disprove that narrative. even if they’re only one example, that’s still enough to call op’s theory of a curse bs lol

  • "Should we worry for Aespa now?" As if Aespa is even the leaders of the 4th gen.... SM stans need to step out of Kwangya sometimes and into the real air for some fresh air.

  • Exo remained as the most popular bg for half of the generation until bts smashed it for the other half.

    Aespa didnt start a generation

Tvxq is until now one of the most influential kpop groups in history, so who cares
