Why is The Boyz so big?

    They sell like 600K albums but I never hear about any of their songs? At least groups like Ateez/Enhypen/Txt has songs that go viral on Tiktok/Spotify but The Boyz has none. What makes them so big?

    They’re popularity is mostly asian based. Gained a pretty big fandom after Kingdom

    Visuals and I like most of their members but their songs lack identity except their debut songs.

    they have a dedicated fanbase esp amongst Korean teens. There were some things at high school where people were voting whether they liked NCT or The Boyz better..it was a thing for a bit.

    They are big in korea, not so much internationally. They have the potential to be a big group in korea unfortunately they always comeback with a bad song. Judging from the highlight medley, their new song will likely be a flop again. So disappointing

    Ateez have never had a viral song though? Stray Kids and Treasure also did, but Ateez haven't, to my knowledge.


    And tiktok is more of a measure for international popularity which The Boyz have never had. Their sales are from East Asia.


    You're on the right track though, The Boyz aren't really popular for their music itself. It's their visuals. Many people compare them to Exo, and guess what, the person who scouted them also scouted Exo. Otherwise, TBZ's concepts and music are all very regular boy group stuff. They do the same vaguely SM-inspired, sleek/dark, and boyfriend fantasy concepts as 70% boy groups are, just in a more polished way than the nugu bgs. Oh, the boyfriend fantasy is important too. They play into that a lot.
