They are both superior in every sense so yes. Not to say they would have definitely succeeded but had more potential.

If super M was cringe then what difference is Exo? To the lay non kpop American fan there's literally no difference between Super M and Exo, just a bunch of Korean dudes.
RV is a possibility but tbh they've a western appeal half the time with their velvet tracks and their red stuff might not be well received. So it's still risky.
SM don't really have any group suited to Western audiences so i find it more cringe how they keep trying to force the appeal on them (Avengers of Kpop lmao) rather than try as the groups as they without catering to something they're not.

With superm the biggest problem was the marketing (calling them the avengers of kpop), the line up and the song choice so yes basically the whole thing was an embarrassment. They have 1 b-side which was pretty good but they should’ve at most promoted it as a collab kinda thing to not set themselves up. Kpop fans at the time wanted an exo comeback instead, so the timing wasn’t great either
