im definitely friends with guys who look down on kpop cause its "cool" but they absolutely never dare mock me for it, in fact ive shown them all multiple kpop groups and they're usually quite honest about judging them

I guess people around me look down on the music but I've never been mocked for it. More like they don't view it as real music and don't see the appeal. I'm confused because for me it's the same quality level as pop from most countries.

Yes. Many years ago I watched a couple kpop vids of SNSD in front of friends they called me, a dude, gay for liking girls

Nah. Girls liking bgs (1D was very popular among my friends for example) is totally fine and no one bats an eye but any dude that likes a gg is possibly gay lol. Yes it's sad but that was back then so thing are different now I assume given circumstances. Kpop is more popular than ever, games are the biggest form of entertainment in the world and anime is very mainstream so I doubt boys will be going through the same criticisms we did.

Sure, but mostly online who thought it was weird that someone at 54 can be a fan. I know it's mostly geared for youngsters, but us oldies can enjoy it too.
