We all know that idols get put on or put themselves on very restrictive diets. Like Momo only eating ice for a week; she herself said that she would be to scared to sleep cus she was afraid she wouldn't wake up or the viral IU diet; IU said she would never do it again. But can we just be real and call them something else. Diets when done correctly is a healthy thing. What idols do is not healthy. We gotta find a different name for them. Also on the topic can people stop doing them as challenges?! It's not healthy.
Can we stop calling them "diets?"

Eat ice?
Might as well drink water

Yeah she said that JYP wouldn't let her be in Twice's debut showcase/debut if she didn't loose weight so she would eat only ice for a week and workout all the time to loose the weight quickly.

it's called ED

IU said later she had to receive treatment for bulimia, so it's sad that a lot of people still see the viral IU diet as a fitness goal instead of the eating disorder that it is.
I knew she talked about having an eating disorder; it's great she got help. And that's the thing is I see a lot of, "doing k-pop diets," on Youtube and it's sad. Like this is how you develop and eating disorder.

I know what and ED is... I'm talking about getting people to stop calling what idols do "diets." Cus what they do isn't dieting.

Same thing as water but since it's cold, it'll raise your core body temperature to warm you up hence burn additional calories....
In theory at least, in reality the amount of calories burned cold vs warm water is negligible. This sound so ridiculous wthell

I feel bad for them but I also wish idols wouldn't share this publicly because it can encourage impressionable fans to join.
I like that they talk about it but, I wish they wouldn't just say the "diet." Like I wish they would say like never do what I did. Kind of warn people who listen to them that it's not healthy. I think it would help change the way Korea sees toxic "diet" culture in Korea.

The problem is it’s not a kpop thing, it’s worldwid. Celebs, influencers push these specific diets that for most don’t work or worse actually cause them problems. Many people especially younger ones get roped in to them thinking they’re a miracle way to lose weight fast and more importantly because their faves do it so it must work. With the rise of social media body image problems are even greater and people are more susceptible to fad diets.
My sister tried one of those fad diets years ago because some magazine she read recommended it as all the Celebes were doing it. She was on one to cut out almost everything except carbs. A few weeks in and she regularly complained about feeling tired and dizzy. She had a doctor check and found she was heavily lacking in vitamins and iron. She had to be on supplements for a few months as a result.

To eat less but the way idols do it they don't eat anything. Which is unhealthy.

I always have a problem with any skinny idols ever since I heard Momo's story. I dont trust anyone that says "my faves all have naturally skinny bodies" as if most people develop this quirk that often. Should skinny shame be allowed? if it means idols eat more and happy. Is it bad asking them to eat more food?
