We have too many subforums with little activity.

  • tbh, there are too many subforums that have very little activity imo.

No one really posts in the comeback sections etc. And I think it drives traffic away from the main kpop forums. I think it would perfectly fine in comeback threads etc were just in the main kpop forum. Tbh most ppl dont go to those section or even check out thos threads from my experience.

  • What benefit does getting rid of it cause? :/

It was created for the people who do actually utilize them to be able to find them easily instead of being buried in the main kpop forum. How does getting rid of a forum with small traffic and causing those threads to be lost help increase activity?

Hmm my perspective. I dont click on them at all. I generally just peruse the first couple pages of the kpop main subforum.

I doubt many users actually go to the subforums and see those threads. While it may help a couple of users many are not even clicking on the subforums or threads for sure.

  • I agree. And if it was in the kpop section it would mean that more people see who is coming back and that might increase attention to those comebacks.

Yup i really only check that section out and I think most users don't go to the subforums regardless. So what the point of them?

But just because you don't use it and you don't think anyone else uses it doesn't solve the problem. The subforum was literally created after feedback from users so clearly there are people are using it.

  • I don't know why people think "just dump all the threads together to increase activity!" is a solution. I've been on a forum that did that... it shut down about six months later because traffic plummeted. Who wants to hang out on a forum where the whole point is to have discussions if no one can find anything?

Checking on the latest post in those subforum it seem quite inactive though? Like 13 hours ago latest post for some of them.

We could always ask for official statistics to really see, thats the only way to know for sure.

@ripia do we have stats on how many users comment or post in certain subforums?

I mean users suggest alot of stuff, but do they really post in them?

Hmm well good point. I'm not saying all subforums ofc. Just the ones that aren't used much.

  • Because 13 hours ago was midnight KST in Korea... that's the time that comeback stuff is released.

If you feel like it's not active enough for you then how about posting there?

I do get that. Tbh all my threads are discussion based so I'm jot going to be posting comeback stuff.

What about subforums like netizen noise or past comebacks etc?

  • I use a lot KMC guild for speak about my nugu, no one care about them on the main, so no problem it's more easy for us to have our stuff on a sub forum

Hmm. Good point. But kmc isn't a subforum in the kpop main right?

  • If we're talking about activity then they're all pretty useless even the netize section because like you say 90% of users are in the kpop section but yeah just my take

It's because the problem isn't the subforums... it's folder camping. It plagues every single forum.

Honestly akorn weekend makes it worse because why would anyone post anywhere else but the kpop folder unless they were dedicated to the threads there? But akorn weekend has made the weekends much more active.

Can i ask whats folder camping?

  • Can i ask whats folder camping?

Folder camping is when people mostly hang out in one section of the forum and rarely post in other sections.

For this forum, most people folder camp in the K-Pop section.
