I thought the same even as I was writing that ngl but some ppl consider them 4th gen so to make things simpler I just included them. Though, speaking realistically, G-idle isn't actually on the same level as Aespa and IVE. Their digials aren't as consistent and they lack the physicals. But since they hot big with Tom Boy I decided might as well.

You never know.
There is too many ggs in 4th gens so someone is going go down and you never know what happen next year. You know many people will move to next newly debut group.
Aespa - Itzy - G-idle - Ive - Stayc - Le sserafim - New Jean and more to come.
For physical, you see how Aespa sold 1M+ and Itzy sold 700k? The average of physical number is going to keep up and it just matter of time when 4th gens start to easily sell 1M+ every comeback.
Also, we also see many example Aespa and Itzy who started high in kchart on their first year and start to fall afterward. It may be the same with IVE. The only problem is that IVE will have less dedicated fandom to keep them around like Aespa and Itzy so they need consistant bop to stay alive.
Also, no need to bring in Sistar everytime we have discussion of ive. Starship may continue release bop with ive or maybe they will go down after their first year?

Up until this moment i thought aespa and itzy had similar album sales but holy shit wtffff
1.6m aespa vs. 700k itzy. Why did itzys sales slow down i thought they were doing good

-
They are not. There is a big reason why aespa sold more especially the chinese market. I believe 800k to 200k. Aespa also leading from the U.S and Japanese market. 55k vs 31k first week on bb200. aespa got 50k from Japan billboard, Itzy might get half.
So yea, despite the big sale from Chinese fans, aespa is also leading in these 2 major markets and I have not even mention korea yet.

Idle are kind of the Mamamoo (audience wise) of the 4th Gen. Much like how MMM would generally appeal to a slightly different and older audience then RV/Twice/BP, I think Idle will be the 4th Gen standard bearer for more mature sounds and a different audience then the overwhelming prevalence of teen-crush and high-teen concept sounds from the other groups.
But yeah that goes generally come with the drawback of lower album sales.

Don't try to compare IVE to g idle or Itzy, we both know damn well that IVE is a wall compared to them, and even compared to aespa the only edge aespa have against them right now is album sales. Very similar to Twice VS Blackpink before The Album.
I am bringing Sistar up because the main reason big4 groups are hyped is because of the groups that debuted before them in the same company.
If Starship managed to consistently keep Sistar on top of charts from beginning to end of their career without half of the relevancy IVE currently have in all metrics, it's more than possible they can replicate it again.
Even if IVE falls off, current 4th gen ggs are still yet to break the records IVE already have set. It's already so many in such a short period of time that I won't even bother listing.

But I thought Tomboy set all the Kchart records. Someone posted that Tomboy broke all time records. Or are you talking about Spotify?
