What is wrong with Bighit vocal training and vocalists selection

  • First, BTS lacked a bit in vocals when they debuted and didn't have a strong main vocal until they became the top bg and magically Jungkook turned into one of the best vocalists and the rest of the members were good enough, because of obvious reasons.

But then txt debuted and then enhypien and now lesserafim, i know the last is not directly under BH but for sure they chose the members or at least had a saying in the matter. Like are the vocal trainers just bad or are they just recruiting helpless singers that not even the trainers can help them? Why is this mediocre vocal skills present in not just one but all BH groups (except 2am ofc)? Even JYP groups are marvelous next to them

    Approved the thread.
  • Lesserafim have a strong vocal duo so I wouldn’t include them. Though Chaewon is an ex-Izone member and Yunjin was a Pledis trainee before they became part of Hybe, so neither of their vocal skills can really be credited to Hybe…

Hybe’s new Japanese survival show (Enhypen’s brother group) doesn’t have a single strong vocalist based on what’ve seen of the contestants so far.

  • Jimin's vocals used to be good Hybe ruined it, they didn't know how to utilise V's vocals since in kpop these type of vocalsits don't even exist they turn them into rappers. Jk has decent vocals.

Lesserafim has a powerful duo I hope they show their charm next comeback.

Enhypen and txt both lack good vocalists but I'd put enhypen above txt since they've heeseung, sunoo and jungwon.

  • The higher-ups in hybe is not interested in good vocals. they're more interested in dancing and good facial expressions. if you watch their survival shows you would know what they prioritize

  • Jungak one of the best vocalists? Sweetie noo

  • I know he is okay for lead vocal at most, but armys made sure to brainwash everyone to think he is among the best vocalists

I mean, he's miles ahead of any other vocalist at hybe so it makes sense he's hyped

  • They're looking for good dancers with a certain visual. Singing, rap, stage presence, all come after those.

  • Ahh the jobless vocal coaches on akp now congregate on the anons. Worry about your faves that with all these supposed heavenly vocals need media play/bundles/sajaegi to sell their music.

  • Bighit had to recruit trainees from another agency for le sserafim. They are that bad in finding their own talent. Or probably there are not many people want to audition with bighit that they had to pick whoever who can swing their hands good enough to be a dancer. The vocal can just be autotuned to death and they can just lipsync for the “live” performance

  • If you don't dance well, you're out of HYBE. That's how it works in that building. They don't care if you sing or rap well. The only reason why Trainee A has a good rapper is because they want to recreate another BTS.

  • BTS has always been good vocalists but antis need to have something bad about BTS to gripe about. Rap, dance, stage presence, personalities - all are indisputable so they need to use vocals. Millions of people love their live vocals everytime they tours so maybe it’s a you problem and not them? Sometimes jealousy or bitterness can make you see/hear differently.

And for the others, Hybe groups sound just like other kpop groups to me. Not sure about perfect vocalists if they are scared to sing live most of the time. I don’t understand that tbh.

  • BTS makes up for a lack of technique-based vocal skill with other aspects, but HYBE’s latest groups have literally just been dance teams 💀 I guess they really just do not care about them. Even Le Sserafim’s Yunjin, who’s actually a decent vocalist, developed her skills through Pledis before the HYBE acquisition.
