Is it still wild to you that Bts of all group became so big?

  • Many groups are talented and have good music, does it feel crazy to you that Bts became the biggest musical act in the world and made Kpop so global? A group from a small company that broke into America, while bigger companies have been trying for so long and failed?

  • It is (atleast for me)

  • But idc what y'all think when I joined kpop fandoms there was something I felt that set bts apart from others.

  • Their music connects, that's why

  • Their music resonates with people in a very special way. It just can’t be explained

Also their group dynamic is really special. The group isn’t made up of all rounders like how it is usually seen among kpop groups. But they have members that truly excell and make up for the flaws the group lack

For instance BTS rapline don’t know how to sing except for J Hope, but they are one of the best. Same with Hobi and Jimin, they are some of the best dancers in the industry and they mastered different fields; one excelling in contemporary and the other in hiphop.

Their vocal line may not be the best in kpop in terms of technique but they make up for it by having one of the most stylistic vocal line with voices of different textures and colours which add variety and different forms of expression to their music.

This is what makes them one of the strongest performing groups in kpop

Such a team is bound to succeed with just a little push in the right direction

  • Yes, their story is for the books

  • They were in the right place at the right time. Directioners were a massive internet-connected super organized fanbase. 1D went on hiatus. Exols started picking fights on twitter and announcing that EXO would be taking over now and delivering actual talent thankyouverymuch, and the revenge token stanning by Directioners ballooned massively and became the real thing.

I'm not discounting their music or their fanservice though. I feel like EXO in their place still wouldn't have got as big because they're kind of aloof looking and their music is more Korean sounding. BTS always had more of a western vibe.

  • Yes. No comprendo.

The 7-member 3rd gen BG I put my money on was Infinite, but I didn't know they didn't have a good relationship behind the scenes. Hoya skedaddled asap when his contract was up.

  • No, I saw them at KCON 2014 in LA and they were huge even then. GD and SNSD were at the heights of their careers, IU was rising into the mega celebrity that she is today and the screams that happened during BTS’ performance were just as loud as the top artists to perform that night.

My friends and I said they would be the next big thing and it turned out to be true.

  • Yes and no. I think that any group that blows up like this always has the “right time and place” factor, but that by no means makes them less worthy. They are incredibly talented and have all the elements necessary to become big, especially their self-produced and written music.

  • their whole self produced not like other boys/kpop groups and talking about mental health worked combined with their hiphop sound and the branding of real rappers thingy

revenge token stanning? you're fucking delusional. if anything, most BTS fans started liking the group bc they could dance well unlike other white boybands like 1D. Most ARMYs used to diss 1D for their boring stage performances. Let's be honest, most kpop fandoms used to collectively diss western boybands. EXOL ain't the only ones.

98 percent of Directioners didn't even know what kpop was lmao What are u smoking?

So, directioners made BTS huge? Tf out of here. Didn't even know 1d and exo or the whole kpop existence till BTS. Maybe you stayed too long on Twitter and you're projecting.

  • As someone who’s seen a lot of kpop groups come and go, BTS really do have something special that sets them apart.

I firmly believe that no other group could’ve reached that many fans all over the world, especially in the west.

  • No. They were at the right place at the right time with the right concepts.

  • It was their exceptional dance practices and stage performances that set BTS a cut above the rest, so I wasn't surprised at all.

  • Not really. Everyone knew the minute they debuted that a non big 3 group selling 2000 albums for their debut will be the biggest group someday. It was so obvious from the beginning. Only stupid people would've thought that they'll go the route of other non big 3 bgs at the time went.
