Lip Sync Contest etiquette question

I entered a Kpop lip-syncing contest at my local comic con. Someone else was doing another song from the same album, so I tried to drop out. They suggested that I do a different song, but I couldn't think of a different artist I wanted to do. I eventually picked my bias's debut song. Should I have dropped out of the contest, not switched songs, or some other solution?
