The real reason why so many people dislike Aespa

    You guys keep saying Aespa was getting hate before all this, can you guys read? I never said they weren't getting hate, but if you think the hate they were getting before is the same to now, you are delusional. Every group, especially when they are achieving success, get's hate. Aespa was never unique in that respect. The hate they got before was comparable to every other Kpop group, they hardly had a unique experience in that regard.


    However now, It's the first time ever I've seen the Kpop fandom (at least here on AKP) almost unanimously agree about Aespa. It's actually quite fascinating to witness tbh.

    Popular group get more clicks. Super easy to understand.


    Sumin sing out of tune or Winter. Which get more click?

    This is really the truth. SM will stop at nothing to try and force relevance in the western market. It’s honestly embarrassing. What’s even sadder is even with all of their financial and promotional efforts, they still can’t buy Aespa’s stage presence or their star power. There’s no way Winter’s bored expressions or Giselle’s lack of talent can be salvaged, even if Karina is a great dancer and Ning Ning is a great main vocal.


    They collectively perform like they don’t want to be on stage and while big 3 privilege may have been able to mask it in the past, there’s just too much competition among 4th gen ggs for fans to settle for Aespa and SM’s mediocrity.


    I’ll be shocked if they are still considered top 4th gen group at this time next year.


    Also, literally no one outside of kpop fans and random die hard stans of certain celebrities buys physical albums anymore so using that as some kind of popularity metric is pretty much pointless in the West. Yet another example of SM being out of touch with how the western entertainment industry works.

    All my dislike is on mys not the girls , It's funny the hype that Mys wants to create when there's no hype at all


    Using the "next level" card eveytime when everyone knows it's a remake....not to mention that this song is not even popular outside of asia (and kpop world)

    I guess Sm need another remake song from fast&furious producer cause obviously they can't made it themself (savage is the proof)


    Add, I have nothing against the forced promotion they do in the US since almost every group does it now, but the way they drag Blinks /Onces thinking they are on top of them , is ridiculous.

    All of this reminds me of Midzy when their debut was successful... all of their fans started getting arrogant and thought they were going to beat their senior. Make yeji the next jennie (now yeji is just another girl from groups) and when their recent comeback starts falling down on the chart, they become silent



    They should focus on their own group first before coming to others. they already have a hard time to beat Ive (the new gp fave) and Le sserafim ( Hybe) who are coming for their neck

    tell me which group whose member immediately got hate from rumor of an ex trainee died because of her? Tell me which group whose member got hate from both army and exol immediately at the same time from fake text? Tell me which group that get all sort of sexualizing controversies because of concept that no one even knew how it would work? Tell which group got bullied because kpop fans decide to make up false info that the group is supporting uyghur exploitation? which group get the lowest rated debut song of all time?


    The truth is, mys are feeling a flashback because this level of hate is similar to their predebut hate. Sm is stupid, that much all sm groups fans already know. But face it, you or anyone else trying to justify this level of hate on sm is just plain bullshit.

    At the end of the day, it's the fans that are huuuuge turn offs.

    Yes, there is this too. But a lot of the reasons the fans act like that is because of the media play SM is feeding them that they eat up.

    like someone else already said, Aespa got compared to prostitutes the moment their concept was announced, people made up rumours about SM turning a section of their artium into a hotel for fans to rent and receive sexual favors from the avatars (and kpop fans believed this bullshit), they got hate from the top 3 bg fandoms the moment they were announced because of lies about Karina calling their faves ugly in private, their debut song was the lowest rated song in melon's history and just a few days ago they got sexually harassed in a school festival and people insisted it was all orchestrated by SM to get Aespa sympathy.

    Is SM mediaplay atrocious? Definitely. Are MYs at fault for setting them up? Yup. But seriously, the biggest problem is you need a magnifying glass to find any talent or skills in this group.


    After all the Coachella criticisms other groups would've worked around the clock like dogs to improve as quickly as possible. They just don't seem to care.

    The only one trying to change the narrative here is you. The thing you are describing is being "overrated". There is a difference between people saying BTS isn't the best at something and saying that they straight up can't dance, can't rap, or can't put on a performance.
