What type of gift is better?

Handmade gifts, because then you know for sure they put a lot of thought, time effort, love and work into your gift, as opposed to just getting you anything. It doesn't even need to turn out great, as long as I can tell they tried. Besides, no two handmade gifts are exactly the same (though some may be similar if you get a ton), so you don't need to worry about getting something you have and no longer need. Plus, they're (usually) cheaper and cost less money. There are exceptions of course, but generally speaking, it's not that bad.
