30-40 mill won, girl groups starting at 20 mill won minimum

    1. [+120, -3] Is it absolutely necessary to have celebrities perform at college festivals, though..

    2. [+86, -1] Ah~ I'd rather that money be spent on helping with scholarships

    3. [+92, -11] This seems like such a waste to me. College festivals should be about showcasing student talent by performing their own singing, poetry, art, and other creative works. Festivals these days sound like a sad excuse to showcase trash.

    4. [+29, -1] Leave out the singers and showcase your own student talent

    5. [+20, -0] That money would be better spent on students who need help with tuition. If you want to see these celebrities so bad, go to their concerts instead ㅜㅜ

    6. [+6, -0] The prices are crazy. Schools should be spending that money on improving student environments instead.

    7. [+4, -0] Don't waste money on celebrities. Use that on helping students advance.

    8. [+4, -0] We need to get rid of this culture where we waste so much money on pop culture at college festivals. Just think how backwards that is...

    9. [+4, -0] Imagine blowing your entire tuition on shouting in the air for 10 minutes

    10. [+3, -0] That's a lot of money to be spending just to invite a singer to perform... Is it necessary? Why not switch the focus of festivals to something more meaningful like promoting volunteer work or other things that help students acclimate to society?

  • btw I'm quite ignorant on such things but do people pay to attend university festivals? like for a concert obviously you pay to see your fav artist or whatever but is that the same for university festivals or ???

For some universities, the concerts are open and free to enter. However, there are also universities where you need to purchase tickets to be able to attend the concert, such as Yonsei University and Korea University. For some university, you might not need to purchase the tickets but you to have a friend in that university to invite you to the event.

so each universalist has different entrance requirements then? gotcha

    cheers mate

  • The actual performance fees listed in the article don't seem unreasonable to me:

    Paul Kim: ₩18,700,000 = US$14,574.25

    Jung Sang-soo: ₩500,000 = US$389.69

    Winner: ₩27,500,000 = US$21,432.72

    Gummy: ₩13,500,000 = US$10,521.52

    Baek Ye-seul: ₩1,000,000 = US$779.37

  • Its just super expensive, these are crazy sums of money!
