BP, SNSD, Aespa, IVE and RV idols most searched in 2022 in Korea

    Search results for the first half of 2022 are in, and it's kinda amazing that the top ranks are populated with idols from 15 years back up till rookie groups right now.

    BP girls are no surprise to be seen in the top, same for consistently popular idols like Irene and Wonyoung.

    4. Wonyoung

    5. Karina

    6. Irene

    7. Garam

    8. Chuu

    9. Jisoo

    10. Rose


    Top 11-20 sees more members of SNSD, Red Velvet and Le SSerafim, as well as the highest ranking members of groups like OMG, I-dle,

    Loona, TWICE and Billlie:

    11. YoonA 12. Leeseo 13. Arin 14. Nayeon 15. Kazuha 16. Jeon Soyeon 17. Kim Chaewon 18. Seulgi 19 Tzuki 20. Joy



    There were some surprises on the list, looks like SNSD are still representing 2nd gen year after year, while BP and RV seem to be most searched of 3rd gen idols and Aespa, IVE and Le Sserafim as 4th gen idols. I hadn't expected Chuu, Yoona, Leeseo or Kazuha to rank that high tbf.

    I don't know, seeing Lisa out of the top 20 is just heartbreaking


    but it was expected to see BP ,Ive Aespa in the top 10

    same for snsd, rv, gidle, twice making the top 20


    consider the noise Le Sserafim makes for the first half of 2022: debut in hybe + controversial concept + scandal with a member... it's even weird if they don't enter the top 20

    Based on recent threads in main and anons, I would have though there'd be 9 members of Twice in the top 10. What happened? Aren't they supposed to have solo star power on the same level as Blackpink?

    TWICE as a group have strong popularity and brand recognition, but individual members' popularity have always been a lot behind that of the group due to JYP's decisions. And the past couple of years both TWICE's group and individual popularity have diminished a lot in favor of other groups and idols.


    Of course, we're talking about South Korea here. It's also telling that Lisa, who's the most popular BP member worldwide, always lags considerably behind the other members when it comes to popularity in South Korea itself.

    but Lisa's excuse is that she is thai, what is the excuse for Twice members that are korean and supposedly have a bigger career than RV or MMM?

    Surprising g idle had a massive hit and the members caught a lot of attention yet they can't compete with lsrf, aespa or ive in 4th gen

    chuu and arin debuted before, aren't from top 3rd gen ggs and even if their groups didn't get a notable hit this year (loona is still nugu) they still ranked higher than g idle members. Seems like tomboy popularity didn't translate to the members

    It translated to the charts hence NL losing all records that mys were saying no gg would surpass. I think they will do good. Don't worry.

    After years into their career if they don't improve their skills and performances they will be dropped just like that and it's ggs like Idle that will stay relevant.

    I mean isn't like idle members are doing actually great now individually even when they dropped a big hit, miyeon solo was forgotten and the rest had individual releases without much buzz. aespa is set to do well as solos because they have the fandom support and SM. And they keep improving their skills my friend who attended the showcase told me so 😚

    Looks like GP are treating G-idle like one-hit wonders. It's up to them to prove them wrong.
