Isnt ive's concept just an excuse because they're not good dancers

whenever i watch Ive's fancams, I feel like they're dancing without a care, like they put no power into any of their moves. Dives always defend them that it's their "concept" even though they literally dont even know what their concept is but they say it's like classy girl crush or soft girl crush and that's why. I feel like Starship did this on purpose because the girls just aren't good dancers. They probably have the weakest main dancer and while yujin is good, shes not lead dancer material.

they aren't the only ones aespa aren't dance oriented and their main dancer isn't as good as other main dancers.

Are they even good at anything?

I think Liz and Yujin do have talent

Not once in 100 years talent or other gg vocalists level, but they still have talent

They are the only ones who can sing. Others are there for their visuals, charms and/or speaking Japanese

Yujin actually is lead dancer material, just not main dancer. Some even say she’s better than Karina

She’s an average dancer, so is Gaeul and Liz and Leeseo are not too far behind.

aespa in general are better than ive. gaeul and yujin/karina winter aren't far off but I would give karina an edge because her footwork and isolations are good. yujin is more consistent.

however the real difference is between rei, liz, leeseo, wonyoung and ningning and giselle. ningning is better than liz, next best in ive. i think liz debuted better than ningning, but ningning's improved a lot through dreams come true.

leeseo was meant to be a lead dancer but I think she's really young so there's less stamina.

I love rei (my bias in ive) but she couldn't even twist in eleven. giselle was able to pull off a twist, giselle just has terrible stamina. giselle could also pull off the shuffle in savage.

Wonyoung and Yujin are literally from Iz*One, one of the best dancing Kpop girl groups out there with some of the most difficult choreography.

Yujin is literally lead dancer material and Wonyoung is full of charisma on stage.

The one thing I will agree with is that their choreography is indeed lacking compared to most girl groups but I don't see how that has anything to do with their dance abilities itself. They can't pick the choreography they just perform whatever they are given. Also, the dance has to obvious match the song. Ive doesn't do noise music so their choreography isn't going to be some whole gymnastics routine. Their songs are steady and smooth and the choreography follows that.

I've seen so many IVE kpop in public cover groups try and do IVE choreography and like very few are able to not make it completely boring or awkward. Shout out to the EST crew. You gurlies amazing.

But as we've seen with "That's my Girl"

They know how to put on a performance and are incomparable to Aespa and their robotic stage presence.

And from their dance practice they are all in sync and nobody is struggling.

As for the lack of energy thing, that is not an IVE thing. That is a Kpop idol thing. I've noticed this for a while and it has nothing to do with dance skill or if the choreography is difficult or not, but 99% of female Kpop idols always come off as if they are dancing with like 50% energy, especially after main promotions are over. I take it that it's because they just get tired of having to do the same dance over and over again. I don't even care about boy groups like that, yet still I hardly notice this with boy groups. When boy groups dance they use so much energy they almost seem manic sometimes - even smashing their knees onto the floor like they are possessed or something.

For example, here is G-idle. I will never get over how the crowd was hyping them and how the song is literally called apeshit but there was like zero fierceness or energy involved.

And again, I'm not trying to drag idle. This goes for like almost every female idol including IVE, with very few exception with the exception of Lee Chaeyeon or Momo or Jihyo. But SWF really wasn't lying when they said there is a difference between idol dancing and professional dancing.

Right now the two most popular and trendy groups are the two with the weakest dance lines.

Yujin brings it with her stage presence and Wonyoung has the entire country on its knees for her, while G-Idle has plenty of non dance talent with their self produced songs, vocals, and rap.

Lol, and since when talent is necessary to be successful? All you need is being likeable and have good songs.
