Korea is whipped for V. Don't let these istans let u think otherwise. He breathes and trend on naver with atleast 10k + views on naver's most viewed section. Hes name dropped on big variety shows all the time, just yesterday, on infinite 's knowing bros and they name dropped him.

because jimin shot to popularity in 2018 without ANY solo activity & kept that popularity till this day. i think that's pretty much what being an it boy/girl entails, you succeed in keeping your popularity without even being in the spotlight constant.
while taehyung has always been one of the most popular bts members (ML in general), it's only recently, with his insta activity and solo endeavors like movie premier and paris, that he's getting more and more attention. it's still very impressive how big he's getting lately, but i would only consider him an it boy if he's able to keep this same popularity when he's less active.

U sound really bitter I hope u do know that tae was never got to promote himself through collabs and special performances at year end and special shows. Jimin's popularity rose a lot after those performances, V started appearing less and less during on sns during the time they promoted in US, some people even started to speculate that he wants to leave and is done with the idol life so how can u say he cannot maintain his popularity without any solo activity when he barely was on spotlight in group comebacks unless and had no special performances either. I assume you're an army, so h must be aware if it peope on allkpop forums making threads about Tae wanting to leave and bla bla.

how do i sound bitter???? learn to read before accusing someone?
OP asked why jimin has the IT boy title, but Taehyung hasn't (yet) and i anwsered it honestly???
nowhere did i say that taehyung didn't have the potential to become an it boy or anything like that. I know Tae was very silent a few years ago (he went through a lot), but except maybe for a few very small performances Hybe never banked on jimin's immense popularity rise with solo releases/solo brand deals/... and he still succeeded in staying at the top for a very long time. If tae can keep his popularity up like this, even if he takes some time off in the future, i'd totally consider him an it boy.

He has the popularity, all he needs are solo activities

You can make your point without invalidating jimins popularity. Jimin was absolutely dominating in 2018 & if hybe was smart & let him release a good solo release and gave him solo brand deals like yg did when Jennie rocketed in popularity in 2018, many people wouldn't be able to dismiss his popularity like you're doing.
Till 2022, jimin was still the most known male idol (in bts/3rd gen) & that was WITH him being absent most of 2022 & 2021. However, it's clear that since 2022 started, tae has been really shining. He has 45m followers on insta in less than 6m & media is going crazy for him. He's dominating 2022 & i'm so happy to see him living his life, but downplaying jimin is hilarious.

I get the impression that the ARMY fandom doesn’t seem to hype up V as much for reasons unknown to me—maybe because he’s not one to put his fans on a pedestal just for being his fans and calls their ridiculous behavior out—but he has a huge fanbase and massive casual following. Oftentimes, a casual following doesn’t really concern itself with parroting titles such as “it boy”, but don’t let that fool you, V is by far one of the most popular people in SK.

He's the least hype in the fandom trust me. Compare his 24 hours streams with other members.
