Why can't Yuri and Eunbi get a hit in SK like other ex-IZONE members?

  • IVE with a national hit, Yena has a sleeper hit and now even Lssrfm got a stable hit in SK but Eunbi and Yuri are flopping?

Yuri imo makes the best music but Eunbi also has a great sound that I thought would fit as SK's taste but I'm surprised to see how poorly they do in charts. Disappointing since every other ex member that's releases something has gotten a hit so far.

  • Yena did a lot of variety, this helped her along with a debut gp liked

Sunni and guru should try the same thing

  • They still got 60-90k album sales anyway.

  • Their companies hasn't given them a hit song

  • Their music lacks an identity. I've listened to both of Eunbi's and Yuri's songs and they both come off as very interchangeable, very generic tracks. I can't even remember anything about them. Their music is one step away from those boring ballads that used to flood the charts a few years ago.

When you look at Western Artists, all of them have their own unique quirks or trademarks that make them stand out in the market. Ariana had her iconic ponytail and sexy cutie style. Doja has a quirky, colorful, pop, RnB and rap. Oliva Rodrigo is heartache and sultry vocals.

What does Eunbi or Yuri have that is eye-catching or sets them apart?

Meanwhile, You only need to hear Yena's "Smiley" once for it to get stuck in your head. It's bursting with personality and you know immediately what sort of artist Yena is. She's playful and cute and wants to cheer people up.

Things I think Eunbi and Yuri can do to improve their visibility.

    1. Find a signature look.

    2. Pick a clear concept. (I honestly think Eunbi should have gone with something like Hyuna's Red, maybe get a few tattoos, spice it up for goodness sakes) It might be a shock to some of her long-time fans but it would certainly capture attention and people would be curious and what to check out her song. If not Hyuna, she would also do well with a G-idle Tomyboy like concept.

i mean same thing for other izone lessafilm or ive, they dont got anything substantial, but they do serve visual so i guess thats something. and besides those are in a group backed by companies so its different to compare, if anyone should compare.

  • Eunbi is a queen.

I would have expected the IZ*One leader to have massive success. A shame it hasn't happened yet.

    Hopefully it'll happen soon.

Iz*One itself has always been fandom driven rather than being popular amongst the GP, so while they are able to do decent numbers with album sales, they're not exactly well-known with the public like other artists like IU, Heize, etc.

As others have mentioned, IVE has the first ranked Wonyoung, while LSRF comes from the big 4 and has Chaewon and Sakura who are both more popular than Yuri and Eunbi, and Yena does have variety work so that makes her more visible than those two.

They may be able to make a stable living for a while just from fandom alone, so at least they will have a career. It's unrealistic and unlikely (not impossible) for a group to have everyone to have a huge hit so it is what it is.

    Honestly couldn't disagree more.

Iz*One, LeSserafim, and have have pretty clear concepts and sounds that separate them from the rest.

When people describe Iz*One music the first thing people will often say is that they're concept is elegant, strong group choreo, and vocals. It's so recognizable that when Lightsum had a comeback people literally described it as Iz*One 2.0.

For LeSserafim, they have a dark and edgy concept, a models concept, casting call concept, and the closest thing we have gotten to "sexy" concept in years. They even boldly tell you what their concept is "FEARLESS". I don't see how anyone can look at them and thing they lack an identity or sound. They even have lore as well that will be coming out in their Manhwa.

As for IVE, from the moment they debuted there has been some confusion about their concept, but not because it lacks identity, but because it was so different from the usual music people were user to it was hard for most people to place. It wasn't a cute or girl crush or teen crush or elegant or sexy. But after Love Dive came out people finally got a good idea and settled with "Chaebol crush". They literally carved out their own identity because it was that different.

Anyway, the only reason I can guess you would assume otherwise from what I meant is if you confused when I said "boring ballad or generic" for the lack of noise music.
