A “solid fanbase” that can buy 1-2m albums should NOT have a problem with a song getting good streams

    Good streams are really unachievable for some of these multi million sellers.

    You're not alone nor is this behavior specific to boy groups. Every single fandom have them. The point is the song/MV is not popular with the casual listeners. That's how you get big streams. It's simply having the sheer number of people willing to stream it a couple of times a day, a week, etc.

    I also don't understand. How can groups sell over a 100k albums in the us but can't get 5k in sales and streams. It's crazy to me. These fans can bulk buy expensive ass albums but can't buy a song that's a loooot cheaper or stream a song for free? The hot 100 is so weak most times that all you need is like 20 points to enter the chart.

    As if ppl are only talking about Spotify. There are numerous music charts that a lot of these 1-2 million sellers can't even chart on starting with their own domestic charts. Spotify is the biggest internationally which is why for international groups, you would think they could chart well on it.

    i dare these groups to reduce their albums to 2 versions like bts and it would be interesting to see how many of them even surpass 500k, let alone 1 million :pepe-shades:

    that's almost all of K-Pop


    the only two groups where streams and sales are proportional to each other are BTS and Blackpink, everyone else is technically a niche group banking on fans spending a ton of money on them. K-Pop looks far more popular than it is because of this stuff.

    There are more ways to listen to music than Spotify. I myself download music and play youtybe playlists when I'm at home.


    I'm guessing OP meant boy groups (that aren't BTS).


    I see Aespa mentioned too (there isn't a thread in anon where Aespa isn't being dragged into by non-MYs, apparently). But they have over 200M streams for 2022 in Spotify right now, with only a handful of songs, so that's sorta impressive.

    Enhypen have a pretty good amount of streams in comparison with many other million sellers so I don’t even get why they’re mentioned :watt:

    skz, txt and enhypen cannot relate. they keep winning.
