As an American I agree, like people think the western industry is so superior to every other industry and honestly it's not. Like, I don't even like 90% of the recent songs, the only people keeping me interested are Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and of course Ari.

It's very simple: it's because K-pop isn't part of western pop culture. How many non-anglophone foreign artists have you seen hitting the mainstream in western countries? The reason anglophone artists can do it is because of how spread American pop culture is in western countries.

Um since when did West stop caring about looks? Artists like Britney Spears got successful cause she was gorgeous. Not cause of talent.
