Blackpink's debut was actually criticised because they didn't have as much stage presence as 2ne1. They were always compared and bp was always dragged down for not meeting the expectations of a yg group.

So while people agreed bp at debut were better than other ggs at the time, that didn't stop the criticism due to the fact that as the successors of 2ne1 they should've done better.

It's not. I followed BP from debut. Blackpink had a huge debut, but they used to do variety shows, lives, they put the work in for the first couple of years. They were ready for every new level that came along.

SM are trying to fast-track Aespa to get to where current Blackpink are. That instagram "missing steps" post said it all and not in a good way. Not working on their foundations means we get a vocal group who don't sing live, and audiences who wonder if the group dislikes them because they won't interact at all and look bored. The 'rare and exclusive' thing has to be built on top of a good foundation, not insta-installed.

yup true i remember how everyone fell in love with rose when she appeared on the mask singer and that cover of jisoo and rose of LY was praised a lot too . They had good promo back then meanwhile aespa hasnt appeared in any such shows.
