The group cover is terrible, from the white background to the styling to the hair colors. Please tell me this isn't the hair colors they are going with for the comeback. Jennie and Lisa have the best styling, but Lisa really needs a better hairstyle or at least some extensions. Jisoo looks fine, except for the fact that her outfit and hair do not go with the rest of the group at all. This is what I mean about the hair colors - three with light hair and one with pitch black just looks weird. Rosé was clearly done dirty from the outfit to the hair. Short hair suits her, so I don't know why her stylists are sticking her in the same low bun 99% of the time. Anyway, there is zero cohesion to the styling, only Lisa and Jennie seem to even slightly match. Can they please hire stylists who know how to make them look like an actual group and not just four soloists?
The group interview was basically a re-hash of LUTS, with Jennie and Rosé offering absolutely nothing new. I also think they need to stop talking about their trainee days. This was over six years ago now. Why are they pretending like nothing has happened to them since 2016? Achievements and career aside, they can talk about more recent struggles, like the hate they get online. Also, why share the same 3 stories of how they bonded as trainees over and over? Why not talk about things they've had to go through together since debuting instead?
Lisa and Jisoo were the only ones who brought anything interesting to the table. I'm a bit worried about Jisoo tbh - the rest of them are giving me "will definitely re-sign with YG" but I feel like Jisoo seems kind of hesitant. Snowdrop's controversy affected her confidence 100% and I get the sense she does not believe she can succeed on her own musically without the rest of the group. I also think she's kind of questioning her place in the group and whether she's really needed. Honestly, it made me kind of sad for her so please no mean comments. Either way, she will not be ready to release her solo for a while so her stans need to give it to god.
What irritated me the most was the complete lack of mention of the new album, like when it's coming, what type of music it will be, how many songs, etc. There was ZERO hype building, making this whole thing seem like kind of a waste. Also I feel like solo covers are unnecessary and will just bring the drama when one is inevitably better than another. YG was 100% in control of this project, you can tell because it is as much about YG's beginnings and attitude as a company (peep the multiple mentions of "international kpop hits 2NE1 and Big Bang" too) as it is about BP. I wish they would stop so heavily controlling the narrative around BP tbh
