She went from performer, to presenter, to present the commercial break. I don't know what happened, but it was a big miscommunication.

i literally only watched the bbma's for her and I was like "where the hell is this performance". i'm disappointed.
Same

Idk what happened behind the Scenes, but i hope AleXa calls them out on it
I have been listening to hear her song play on the Radio, i havent heard it any yet ( idk if its only being played on the FM AM or XM radio station ;-;)
so they changed her position from performer to presenter
i hope she gets the promised radio play atleast
I hope so too
I hope BBMA's makes a statement

Injustice. She should use this win to sign with an american label and promote as a western singer / dancer. her company's concept for her is very niche and not appealing to gp in korea or outside. Their songs are also not good.

Pretty sure Kelly never said she was gonna perform tho. All that was said was that she’ll be appearing
Regardless
if everyone knew that
would there really be any point in being there in the first place if they don't get to perform to show off their capabilities to the wider public to gain any sort of attention
cause a good chunk of the viewers that night probably don't remember her
the only people would remember would be the General K-pop community and her fandom, the AI Troopers
Thats stupid. They should get called out for that
Lets take to twitter

But this is what Makes AleXa Unique, being Under a Korean Label, but still performing in the West and being able to write her own Music and not being under control of a company like they do in the East
its better to be unique then blend in with the rest

Damn I hope she can get more opportunities to make up for this
I hope So too
I would at least hope that GMA would allow her to perform Wonderland
Yikes BBMAs shady. I knew ASC would screw her over somehow. They hate seeing powerful Asians in American media.
It didn't Look like ASC screwed her over from what I could tell
i feel like she would've lost if there was was no fan/ Eurovision voting
i think what was the problem with the show was that there were really popular people on there ( like the guy from Connecticut ( who was a Grammy Winner) and there was a Guy that was originally on the Voice) and then there were people that were hardly well known at all
Also the Islands that are under US protection/ Territory were mistreated Poorly cause not one of them made it on to the next round cause their songs were in a different language ( mostly Spanish)
i personally think Americans just criticize people that aren't like "us" if you don't speak our language or your your not from here then gtfo, i hear it all the time ( especially from my dad unfortunately, he criticizes me for listening to Kpop cause it isnt in our language, but that should never matter)
And lets be real for a second real quick, if there is ever a Kpop artist in a contest
you can believe that the Fandom ( in her case the AI Troopers) Made sure they Voted the living hell out of the Voting button to ensure that AleXa won
( good job to the AI troopers )

Its BBMA its always messy. Like putting Doja Cat as R&B artist when she is pop

What was the point of even being on that failed show? Like, she wasted how many weeks of her life?
That's why the BBMAs had ass ratings anyway.
TBH, most of these competition shows don't do much for the careers of the artists. American Idol was the best, and I don't even think any of their winners have done much in like the past 10 years (unless it was some niche genre like Country or Contemporary singers). The only person I know from the Voice is Melanie Martinez, and that show has also been on for like 10 years.
Fifth Harmony was on the X-Factor, but how many years ago was that?
At least with the Voice, X-Factor, and American Idol you get a recording contract and some money I think. What the hell did she get from this show?

Exposure and networking is all she got. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks are still around

Yes, the American Idol OGs are still alive and thriving. But that show has been on for what? Like 20 years, and those are the only ones still around? Jordin Sparks won in 2007? That was over 10 years ago. Kelly and Carrie won even before then.
What happened to the contestants from the past 10 years?

Scotty McCreery 2011 had an album last year, Maddie Pope season 16 had a single release a week ago and if I'm not mistaken Philip Philip also released music

Only person I know from that is Phillip Phillip. He did well. I looked up Scotty McCreery, and he is country like I mentioned in my first statement. Maddie, looked her up too, and she didn't even chart on the Billboard top 100. In fact, none of the winners have from the past 10 years. I think Phillip Phillip was the last one to do it, and he won in 2012.
So...yeah. This is reinforcing my whole point. It's not just about releasing music, but actually being relevant. If the music show doesn't make you relevant or put you in a good position in the public eye, then what was even the point.
Edit: Philip Phillips won in 2012.
