The lipsyncing is becoming really upsetting and disappointing

  • Most acts at the kpop flex festival were lipsyncing. I don’t care so much about that at music shows even though it makes them boring to watch most times. But people paid a lot of money and travelled from many countries to see these groups and artists. It’s just very upsetting to go through that much only to have them lip sync the entire time.

I really feel it’s a wasted opportunity where you’re performing for 40k people and it’s only for 20 minutes yet you can’t give the fans live vocals in that short time. It also robs the artists of a great experience where they sing their heart out to a stadium level audience which isn’t most artists don’t experience.

It is seriously disheartening as a fan of live music.

  • Agreed. Singing live during music shows is a plus but don't really care if they lipsync.

Infront of a live audience I expect them to sing live, anything else is a disappointment

  • All of y'all so sensitive for what?

If they sing live and don't sound like the studio version they get dragged. If they don't sing live they get dragged.

Idols can't win anyway, so might as well sound good.

  • It's weird how fans will make excuses for their groups as to why lipsyncing most of the time is acceptable. Music shows are formulaic. Fine. Lipsync. But festivals? That should be the time kpop groups want to show off and have fun. But instead, agencies just don't want to take any risks. Speaks volumes on how much belief they have in their acts.

  • Some artist did sing live like Mamamoo and Kai. Not sure about other tho.

I think IVE also did sing live. Yujin was clearly louder than the backtrack on their Royal performances as well as Wonyoung and Liz too.

    Haha so true.

Wasn't there, but I'd be disappointed too if they lip-sync. If they lip-sync but interact with the crowd, I guess it gives a better feel that this is 'live' yknow? but if they don't do it, it's a let down ):

I just think its much more fun to interact with the audiences, like Mamamoo Hwasa did. Fans come to see you, play with them a bit yknow.

  • personally I would appreciate live vocals but I wouldn't really care if they lip sync. If I'm buying a ticket it's because I'm paying for the experience of seeing my idol irl and being in the same space as them. Lip syncing or not doesn't change that. As a Kpop fan I am aware of the fact that I am stanning "performers" and not necessarily "singers".

  • yes, this, I saw a lot of fancams and most of them were lipsyncing, the only one that didn't seems to do it was IVE yet they still sounded lower than the backtrack, Yujin though hitted the Eleven high note live and it was noticeable, but other acts were barely even trying, even Soyeon, I thought she was going feral with her raps specially considering that they sang live during music shows, but it was dissapointing noticing she was lipsyncing it too

The fuck? Enhypen sang live too.

  • unfortunately kpop has now become all about the overall performance and placed so much importance in dance rather than singing. Most groups these days are just not great singers. This is what happens you you prioritized and hype a group of dancers.

  • I watched a performance of IVE and they were clearly live, who was lipsyncing?

  • My biggest fear if I ever go to a kpop concert

  • Watch fandoms drag you and defend lip syncing. lol

Pretty much known who those are. Their faves can‘t sing and dance live well so that is why lip sync is normalized.

    RIP concerts

  • It's amazing how K-pop convinced fans to defend lip-syncing live concerts. K-pop groups have it easy because fans let them.

  • Lip syncing is normal if you stan certain groups.

These groups are usually those who can’t sing and dance live.

  • If I paid for a concert I want the whole experience. I'm not gonna drop money blindly on my faves if they're just going to lipsync all the time. Some of you people here just make excuses for your fandoms

  • So I'm seeing some people say idols lip synced while others saying they didn't. So which is it? Who actually sang live at kflex?
