Why Produce 48 is my all time favourite Produce shows

  • Even though the viewership for it was lower in Korea than previous Produce shows, what I liked about it was having the AKB48 girls in it. A totally different girl group and brand than KPOP. It's like to different cultures that met. I really hope we see something like this again. Before people say Girls Planet 999 yeah, but all of them despite being from different countries were kind of similar. Except for the GZN48 twins.

  • I remember before Produce X 101 started people were saying that the next season was gonna be a male version of PD48 and do another collaboration with one or more Japanese companies just like they did with AKB48, of course it ended up not being true

  • For me the best was the Japanese members, who have been performing for years, getting shocked at how good trainees are.

Really? I think the best was the fact that MNET only allowed Korean votes and still until the finale(which got hit with the rigging scandal in the end anyways) the Japanese contestants were so popular, people were thinking the final group of 12 at least half would be Japanese instead of only 3

mate, we are making fun of mnet here.

I can see you are new, but trust me.

We went through the whole Mnet are snakes debate at least five years ago with Produce 101.

  • Plot twists always make for good drama :pepe-popcorn:

Right, screenwriters are always looking for a way to up the ratings and get people talking about their shows, but they have to be careful with plot twists because the audience might feel they are too forced and not a natural conclusion to the story. That happened with some popular shows which ended with the audiences widely criticizing the ending like Game of Thrones I suppose

Oh there was backlash. Seeing how Mnet likes to roll (and continues to roll), they subscribe to the "There's no such thing as bad publicity" theory.

  • My least favorite produce season :pepe-notes: Overall I was more attached to trainees from other seasons, my list: Produce season 1> Produce season 2 > Produce x 101 > Produce 48
