[Un Cut] Resonance

I. Introduction

[Un Cut] is an ongoing YouTube variety/reality web series that follows members of the boy group NCT behind the scenes on albums, from recording sessions to dance practices to photo shoots. [Un Cut] Resonance is a portion of the series that follows the making of the all-unit album, NCT 2020 Resonance Pt 1 and 2.

II. Overview

NCT or Neo Culture Technology is a boy group under SM Entertainment. The group structure of NCT is unique among K-Pop groups due to the fact that the concept of NCT is an ever expanding group with "unlimited" members and it is comprised of several individual sub-units. Currently there are 23 members in NCT, making up four individual sub-units.

As sub-units prepare for their latest comeback, the [Un Cut] series has followed their preparations as a production diary beginning with NCT 127's Neo Zone in 2020. Content includes behind the scenes on the album jacket, MV and track videos, as well as recording sessions and dance practices.

NCT Dream, NCT 127, WayV and NCT U have appeared in the series, as well as the all-unit NCT 2020 Resonance and NCT 2021 Universe events, featuring the members of all the units. WayV has its own existing content series, WayV-ariety, that follows them during album comebacks, although WayVmembers are included in the NCT U and all-unit NCT content.

[Un Cut] Resonance includes the fourth and fifth albums in the series, NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 1, released on October 12, 2020, and its repackage NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 2, released on November 30, 2020.

NCT unites on a regular basis for an all-unit event, such as NCT 2018 Empathy, NCT 2020 Resonance and NCT 2021 Universe, supported by albums, concerts, special social content, TV or streaming shows and appearances.

The Resonance event featured all 23 members, including introducing two new members: Sungchan and Shotaro. Content includes behind the scenes on the album jacket, MV, dance practices and teaser videos, as well as recording sessions. Many of the songs on the album have a recording session video.

The content has substantially more episodes than a typical album - a typical [Un Cut] has 5 to 7 episodes. The Resonance content has 24.

III. Episode List

[Un Cut] NCT 2020 Resonance content originally launched and is available on the NCT YouTube channel. Episodes aired between Oct. 10, 2020 and Jan. 13, 2021. Episodes are 12-30 minutes.
