[Un Cut]

I. Introduction

[Un Cut] is an ongoing YouTube reality web series that follows NCT members behind the scenes on albums, from recording sessions to dance practices to photo shoots.

II. Overview

NCT or Neo Culture Technology is a boy group under SM Entertainment. The group structure of NCT is unique among K-Pop groups due to the fact that the concept of NCT is an ever expanding group with "unlimited" members and it is comprised of several individual sub-units. Currently there are 23 members in NCT making up four individual sub-units.

Beginning in 2017, behind the scenes content for NCT albums, appearances, photo shoots and music videos was often captured in the ongoing NCT vlog N' Minute. In 2020, a new series, [Un Cut] was launched to support NCT 127's second album, Neo Zone. [Un Cut] includes behind the scenes on music videos, dance practices and photo shoots tied into new NCT album releases.

Inspired by another series, the 2018 NCT Recording Diary, [Un Cut] also includes song recording sessions for each album release. This popular feature captures raw NCT members' vocals, as well as their struggles in recording difficult passages and notes within production. For the NCT 2020 Resonance albums, nearly all the songs on the albums were featured in [Un Cut] studio recording sessions.

NCT Dream, NCT 127, WayV and NCT U have appeared in the series, as well as the all-unit NCT 2020 Resonance and NCT 2021 Universe events, featuring the members of all the units. WayV has its own existing content series, WayV-ariety, that follows them during album comebacks, although WayV members are included in the NCT U and all-unit NCT content. Beginning in 2022, WayV were also included in their own specific [Un Cut] episodes.

[Un Cut] originally launched on the NCT Daily channels, but with YouTube changes in early 2021, content now features on the channel of the specific unit (i.e. NCT Dream, NCT 127, WayV). All NCT members have appeared in this series.

III. Episode List

The length of the episode varies, from 7 minutes to 23 minutes. New episodes are usually provided every 5-7 days during build-up of a comeback, although Resonance content lasted several months and Universe content spanned several weeks.

Because there are so many episodes, they have been divided out in other Lexicons for the specific album as [Un Cut] Album Name. There are 16 albums in the series.
