The problem is no one actually seems to care about gun violence. Shootings are only a story when people can weaponize them against a group they dislike or to fit a specific political narrative. People get shot every day in America and it never makes the headlines. To put into perspective how bad gun violence is in America... These sensationalized shootings are only like 0.5 percent of the yearly gun deaths and they are the ones that get all of the media coverage.

There will not a continent wide conventional war. The Ukraine invasion has exposed Russia as a weak country. The illusion of them being a military juggernaut is over. They have a weak economy and their military can barely handle the invasion of a much smaller nation. That's the extent of their power unless Putin goes full mad man and decides to start dropping nukes. I'd like to think there would be some sort of revolt in this case. I don't think most people in Russia are looking to end the world.

Lol no stop with the lies. Only little White European people cared about us, you don't know what you are talking about. They also bombed us, raped our women and killed kids brutally. Yet they have the audacity to call us terrorists. of course not everyone ignored, but we are talking about the majority here. it's not only white people, even other brown people empathise more with white people. look how koreans are praying for Ukrainians, yet they never cared about what happened in Arab countries. White people never gave a fk about what happened to people of color being brutally murdered in Vietnam and Japan. It's disgusting and it makes me angry how we are ignored and being treated less than humans.
Now I know you're trolling when you mention Japan in your argument. Japan murdered tens of millions of "people of color" in the 30s and 40s. That superior empathy clearly wasn't functioning very well.

It being banned has nothing to do with it being as bad as the n-word or other slurs. There's just no reason to allow it because all it does is cause unnecessary drama. It pisses one group off and then leads to them retaliating with slurs of their own. It just creates a very toxic environment for no real reason. No one uses a slur unless they are looking to start some shit.

The big fuck up with Loona is the fact that they debuted a group with 12 members to begin with. It was just a horrible idea. You have to consider that Blockberry has to pay for the living expenses for all of them. The cost of that alone is probably enormous. Couple that with their lack of any major success and they are a prime candidate for an early disbandment.

It's because companies actively encourage weird behavior like this.

Do Koreans realize that being severely underweight is MORE deadly than obesity? I feel like a lot of idols are going to die young because of the abuse they put themselves through during their careers. The obsession this society has with being stick thin is fucking weird.

No because it doesn't prevent you from spreading the virus. It just makes you less likely to die if you get it. Recent studies show that fully vaccinated people who get infected carry as much virus in their nose as someone who doesn't have the vaccine. What is the benefit of forcing people to get it? You will still spread the virus if you go back to your old lifestyle. What we need is mandatory masks everywhere. These are things being reported on CNN and CNBC. Not some right wing conspiracy site.

My entire family got symptomatic COVID after being fully vaccinated. Didn't get sick from the actual vaccine which were moderna and pfizer.

I don't think many people really care about it in the US. It definitely doesn't have the broad appeal of other genres. You might be able to find some fans in the younger demographics but you'd be hard pressed to find many k-pop fans over the age of 20 when you take BTS out of the equation. My anecdotal experience is that I went to an Oh My Girl concert in Atlanta and there were maybe 200-300 people there in total. Most of them were very young. The oldest people I saw were probably in their late 20s to early 30s.

I put it off out of laziness. My fully vaccinated brother decided to go party at the beach like a frat boy for an entire week only to come back with a breakthrough infection. I've been stuck in my room for the last week trying to avoid it. He's in his early 20s and has actually been pretty sick which makes me wonder how effective the vaccines actually are against variants.

The idea of defunding the police is fucking stupid. Especially at a time when crime is skyrocketing. A society without police would be complete chaos. The only people who actually think this is a good idea are dumb kids who live in affluent neighborhoods that have no crime. I don't think this is even an unpopular opinion considering New York of all places just voted for a cop to be mayor.

22.5 years might not seem like a long time, but it really is when you think about it. Considering his current age, his life is pretty much done. It's good that he's not getting off with a lesser sentence. I hope that this would deter others from doing something similar to what he did. Rest in peace, George Floyd.
I'm not sure about that. The average man in the US lives into their late 70s. He can potentially get out in 15 years on good behavior. He'd be 60 at that point. Conservative groups would set him up with books deals, donations, etc. I think he gets to keep his pension as well. He might be living like a king if he gets out. Doesn't feel much like justice if that ends up happening.

Here we go again. An attack by Muslim blew up by media. Not the same as when white terrorist terrorizes people. Not wrong actually, because those white terrorists perform more organized terror. Or should I say, government level
This isn't even true. There are significantly more terrorist attacks by muslims extremists than white supremacists in Europe. Most "terrorism" in Europe has nothing to do with either and is linked to separatism.

I had no idea she was mixed until someone pointed it out. She looks like a spanish or portuguese white girl. I definitely think she is white passing. As a whole Americans have really widened the goal posts for who is considered a minority in recent years and it's kind of silly IMHO. You've got white passing people like Halsey who are like 1/4 black claiming to be black. It reminds me of all the white people who are like 1/10th cherokee claiming to be native americans. The one drop rule is dumb af and needs to go. If you are white passing then you reap all of the same benefits that a 100% white person has.

Is it really a domino effect when it's what usually happens? How many girl groups have ever made it beyond 7 years while remaining active? SNSD and Apink? Mamamoo? I can't think of anyone else. Disbanding at this point is the norm and only 1-2 groups from this gen are likely to go beyond that point.

The problem with a group being as popular as blackpink is the members don't NEED the group anymore. You see this kind of thing in k-pop and even the west all the time. Members reach a level of popularity and decide they don't want to be in the group anymore. Jennie especially could easily strike off on her own and make way more money and have more control over her life. There isn't really any logical reason for someone like her to continue performing in a group after her contract expires. Why handicap yourself like that? I would have said the same thing about Irene before her scandal.
