It's funny when people thing newer gen idols are always richer than older gen ones when clearly, many older idols made a lot and are set for life.

Their okay vocalists but I don't think their underrated since their not as good as red velvet.
Luna is better than all Red Velvet.
And Krystal is only better than Yeri and Irene or on the same level as Joy.

I think many here are suffering from some collective delusion.
They renewed their contract with YG. That's not some imagined fact. It's a fact.
I guess if you say they didn't renew enough times...that's certainly the case in this thread...you can trick yourself into thinking it's true.
Compare it to G-Dragon, T.O.P, Yedam, iKON...and any number of artists YG both let out of their contracts and didn't renew...they are no longer employed by YG.
BLACKPINK are YG employees.
They are still under YG and are contractually obligated to "come together." It's not if they come together...they will because they are under contract to.
That's how a contract works.
You don't sign a contract and are not expected to contribute.
One side gives compensation...the other side does work for said compensation. That is how a contract works.
This will be tough for some of you to hear, but they'll never be as powerful individually as they are as a group.
And another thing that will be hard for some to hear...the members themselves would agree with that.
They agree with that because they renewed their contract as a group with YG.
I'm sorry if that destroys your narrative.
I think you are right and as long as they have the right to do solo stuff out of YG, YG can't control or keep them dungeoned with a comeback every 3 years which I think is what is going to happen. They'll have just one comeback the next 3 years since they re-signed with YG.
So now they can fly, be free, do whatever they want and still have YG push them as group.
Lisa, Jennie, Rose and Jisoo are the bigger winners here. And that's a fact. They have what they wanted, both YG and freedom. Most Kpop idols don't have that that BP does. Lol!

I worked with singers, my mother is a vocal coach too, I know everything about this. They didn't improve much since their debut, I follow their career since day 1, they're one of my favorite Kpop singers. Like I said, they were amazing since the beginning. Just because their technique seems more effortless and better, doesn't mean they improved a LOT! Never said they didn't improve. Compared to those I listed already, it's not a big improvement.
I won't argue about this, because I don't see the point. If you want to learn something about vocals and techniques, you can read it here:
Taeyeon: Girls’ Generation’s Vocal Analysis: Taeyeon [Newly Updated] | K-pop Vocalists' Vocal Analyses
Wendy: Red Velvet’s Vocal Analysis: Wendy | K-pop Vocalists' Vocal Analyses
I see a good difference in how they sound now compared to how they sounded at debut.
I think Taeyeon and Wendy are probably the only SM vocalists who didn't really evolved.
Taeyeon's INVU is her best vocals performance ever. It doesn't make sense what you are trying to say.
I won't argue, I grew up listening to Celin Dion and the likes so I know what I'm talking about.

Taeyeon and Wendy have improved so much since debut. Both sound more effortless and have wider ranges than they did at debut. Both produce more resonance and Taeyeon is more consistent in this.
I know, but most of them already good vocalists from the start, that's why there isn't any big improvement later. I think Taeyeon and Wendy are probably the only SM vocalists who didn't really evolved, because they were one of THE best in the industry from the get go.
I know if you don't listen attentively, or you are tone deaf or vocals aren't really your thing, you'll not notice but those two have improved a lot compared to their debut days.
Listen to their debut vocals and their recent ones especially their solos.

Everyone should be given a chance. If she can prove (not with one role, of course) that she can do it, and she's getting roles because she is actually talented and not because she's a member from the biggest gg, it's great, but I don't think she will prove that with one role. Doesn't matter how big it is.
Even if it's just a 5 minute long scene, if she will do a great job, she can get more roles, because this isn't some lame tv show. But I don't expect her to be amazing like someone who's in the industry for decades. I have a lot of favorite actors, and most of them were a hot mess with their first roles.
Then her debut in such a big project shouldn't worry anyone, BLONKS or not.

Most of them aren't, because in Kpop it's not really a trend to be better vocalists, especially for sub-vocalist. Most fans don't care about that anyway. But here are some example:
Moonbyul: I know, technically she's "just" a rapper she never had the "sub-vocalist" or even "vocalist" title, but anyone who knows Mamamoo more than a little, knows that all 4 of them are vocalist, and she was an SM trainee too. I'm not even sure if there's another group that doesn't have a sub-vocalist, main or lead-vocalist, everyone is listed as vocalist.
This is why I have to mention Solar too, because since her Mata Hari Musical, she evolved so much. Her belting were great in the past too, but now her voice isn't as airy as back in the day, and her lower range became much better too.
Taemin from Shinee: I think he's one of the best example for the guys.
Kai from EXO: Another great example.
Hyo from SNSD: She's also improved, not a lot but still.
Karina from Aespa: She didn't improve a LOT, but still improved her stamina, and she's not as airy now.
Basically, every sub vocalist in Red Velvet became better in a way, but like I said, most Kpop Idol don't improve much, especially if they're from a BIG company. The biggest improvements usually happen with Idols from smaller agencies, because they have to work much harder to be on top. For mainstream groups, it's enough if they're average at best. Kpop isn't about vocal battles anyway.
All SM vocalists improve with time from the main vocalist to the sub-vocalist.

Sica is pretty not on the same level as yoona and taeyeon
I don't think Yoona did anything to her face.

Well, yes, she can't act because she's not an actress, but I'm not saying she should be Meryl Streep in her first role. No one was a phenomenal actor with their first role. My comment wasn't really about her talent. Acting isn't something you can learn overnight. What I tried to say is, BLONKS (not BLINKS) acting like Lisa will win Emmy, Golden Globe etc, they're literally saying this on Twitter. Because of their toxic behavior, I think this isn't a good move from HBO/Warner, because we saw what they did with Jennie and HBO too when she didn't have many scenes in The Idol, and when they give her more, they called her a porn actress. I work in this industry for years now as a journalist, I heard a lot of bad things about Blonks from people who worked on The Idol.
Some people said Lisa was a child actress, I don't know about that, but even if it's true, doesn't mean she's going to rule the acting industry. Jisoo as a singer, dancer etc isn't really worth talking about, BUT as a model and actress she's not bad. Lisa is a great dancer and looks like she wants to be an actress too. I won't judge her acting based on one performance, but my real problem is their toxic fans. Not Lisa or the fact that she got the role because she's the most famous Thai, probably, and if I'm correct they're doing the new season in Thailand, and she's going to play some influencer. That's why I said, her role will be small, like a cameo.
I think Lisa should be given a chance to show us her skills. Who knows maybe she'll be acting as a dancer or something. Just because it's a first time it doesn't mean she'll do a mediocre or a bad job. Patience please!

BLONKS already took over Twitter and Insta and attacking everyone who dare to ask who is she and why is she will be on the show. Absolutely disgusting creatures, but I'm not surprised. They can't enjoy their short term success without attacking others and calling their faves nugus. I will come back when they realize Lisa will have a 5 minute long scree time, because I had enough of these toxic people. Jennie was a flop at HBO, now Warner needs money, so they give them one more chance. To be honest, they don't need Lisa, because White Lotus is already a great show and won a lot of awards. Good PR for them for short-term, but they will lose a lot of viewers thanks to the toxic Blonks. Look at them, what they did with HBO when Jennie was on The Idol. I wouldn't risk ruining a great show reputation, honestly, because Blonks are not smart and not loyal.
Are you saying Lisa can't act?
