Thanks for the undoubtedly genuine concern for the girls, but their sound and concepts is the last thing Hybe should touch. And by last thing mean never.

idk about that. we're all surrounded by people who think similar to ourselves. i am in several discord servers with hybe group stans (including tokkis) and girl group stans and many agreed that how sweet was a week release. i personally felt like the cb itself was almost proof that mhj was intending to be out of hybe before the planned full album. it all felt much less inspired than previous newjeans' releases.

im sure there are many tokkis who will never think anything the girls release is "bad" or "worse" than previous cbs, bc that the nature of being a stan. unwavering support towards everything the artist does. tokkis have gotten themselves stuck in the trap of thinking newjeans = mhj. so now the narrative is that nothing anyone else can help them create will be as good as what mhj did, and i personally don't agree with that. there are many talented kpop creatives out there. i think it would be nice if the girls continue working with their same producers, but i think a little change could be welcome for them for artistic growth. they are too early in their careers for stagnating music.

I have to say, how sweet was definitely their weakest single to date. i think kpop groups having a core sound and image is always welcome, but newjeans needed to make a leap upwards from super shy and eta and it feels like the move to how sweet was way too lateral sonically. and i also thought bubblegum was an attempt to rehash ditto with much less impact.

i for one am also more intrigued to see how a different creative could handle newjeans. idg the people who keep taking jabs at hybe's music taste like lesserafim isn't very successful and illit also just came down from a hit debut, with one of the bsides blowing up. hybe can manage their groups quite well musically actually. every group will have hits and misses. other management choices are definitely something to be more concerned about. but we shall see what unfolds. bc i have no doubt now, after seeing the recent leaks, that mhj is getting canned.

ngl, this was kinda my thought. i wanted to stay out of it bc idg why every topic in this thread becomes some sort of "gotcha" moment. people are STILL trying to downplay what illit is going through and going as far as to say they're staging things for sympathy like we don't all see the hate comments in every knet translation that gets thrown in this thread as proof of something. how can some of the people who call out any newjeans shade have no empathy for illit.

i mean it perfectly falls in line with her having a big ego. she truly thought she was slick enough to not get caught. she did not think hybe would audit ador. she probably thought they were going to fold so that she didn't go public with the illit accusations. and seeing how much damage has been donedone, it is kinda crazy what hybe put on the line by being aggressive in their initial response to everything. they allowed her to spin her david and goliath narrative. but the truth is, now that things are going to court and the criminal complaints are stacking up, she doesn't stand much of a chance. sk gp opinion is so fickle and for all we know in a year or two people will look back on this like how they did the t-ara situation and say "wow, we really fell for mhj's trap". ntm the ties she is cutting in the kpop industry are irreparable. i still think she did a lot of damage to herself with that "album pushing" accusation. what investor will trust someone who whistle blows open secret industry tactics? especially ones that are almost single handedly keeping kpop profitable?

im sorry but this is rich coming from someone who was just calling out people bringing up the jeans comparisons and saying its "not the same" as the illit accusations. posting similar clips from newjeans mvs to movie scenes is not the same as saying newjeans copied this persons own work. why tf would belift fire someone for being passive aggressive in retaliation to accusations? especially when a big part of the general rebuttal is how much of the "copied" things can actually be claimed as mhj's own intellectual property.

idek if mhj wants to settle with hybe atp. she probably still wants to seize ador and remain the owner, but that ship has sailed tbh. the way she played it from the beginning already showed she was never going to cooperate. bc as soon as hybe started the audit she should have scrambled to cut a deal with them. she could have probably tried to leverage her relationship with newjeans and the parents and stayed on as their creative director while still stepping down as ceo. she would have a much tighter leash on her, but if she had waited it out in that position, when the girls contracts are up she could have easily walked away with them and started a knew management.

but she completely tarnished any leverage she had to stay on at ador in any capacity and proved herself to be a liability by ranting about other hybe group. she is still using her relationship with newjeans and their parents as a weapon , but its simply not enough atp. if the girls forcibly leave hybe atp it would put just even more of a halt on their career than any vacation or hiatus hybe may dish out.

i think the best thing the parents can do is to wait it out and see who hybe puts in charge. mhj is replaceable, just like every other creative director/ceo/ect. all the girls really need is someone who will carry on the 90s inspirations and keep them true to concept.

if the parents end up hating how whoever the next in charge runs things, and they feel like newjeans is being shelved ect, then it will be time to build a case to terminate their contracts.

i mean, the text disparaging a female employee bc of an SA accusation are definitely damning. the newjeans txts don't rlly add much to their case, i feel like they threw those in there to make her seem untrustworthy in general. but the situation with the SA accusation and sweeping it under the rug does add to their point.

from some of the articles posted in the last thread, it also seems like mhj's side was aware the texts were going to be presented. what i saw was that her lawyer said "just the fact that we didn't agree to this evidence means it is not good evidence" to the judge, insinuating they already tried to object it potentially during smtg like a discovery phase. but now they are back tracking and submitting evidence to counter the texts. it just makes me raise an eyebrow.

what i find interesting is that mhj feels the need to retroactively submit "explanations" for the texts to the court when, if her team had just allowed them to be fully read aloud, her team could have theoretically given "explanations" in real time in the court as a rebuttal. its almost like she needed more time to spin her stories "explanations"

This is a hearing on whether the usual order of things (firing/trial for firing without due cause/result) would be prejudicila to ador as a company and as such if HYBE should wait until MHJ's actual trial has gone through before deciding to fire MHJ.

i mean... i get that. but i feel like my thought still applies. if the burden of proof lies on hybe, idk what the petitions should be expected to do realistically. bc the court theoretically shouldn't have an opinion on whether or not ador "needs" mhj. their ruling is on whether or not hybe has a right to fire her. and that has nothing to do with whether or not her employees like her imo.

i've just been thinking about the concept of petitions in general more because i recently watched that documentary on nickelodeon and the person that SA'd drake bell also had a bunch of people in hollywood petition the judge on the case in his favor, some of who admit now that they had no idea what the full case was about. it just makes you think.

the whole thing with the petitions is interesting to me though bc realistically, do they expect the judge to just ignore potential valid evidence in favor of these character appeals? i know this stuff happens in u.s courts too, people petitioning the judge, but i wonder if they truly think the judge should value their words over evidence

uh, all the illit members had phones int hat clip btw. they were literally reading comments for the segment. wonhee was just the one that appeared to be focusing on reporting negative comments while the others prob ignored them
