Taeyang won a daesang as a solo. How many other idols have won a daesang as a solo away from the group?

Produce's groups are popular because they got the top trainees from different agencies due to it being a temporary group. I think the other shows got lower end contestants/trainees.
-
You got it wrong. Lee Young Ji is.
-
Isn't this what most people predicted? That they will be like Mamamoo.
-
Wut? How can this be a China tour when they're literally in Seoul???
Also is this lady actually getting permission from the folks being interviewed? Half the time it feels like she's just running up to people cold and sticking a camera and mic in their faces, they dont look prepared at all. Very sus.
What is sus. about it? The whole point of the clip is going up to random people to interview and ask them some simple questions. Afterwards, she ask if it is ok to post on her YouTube.

Seriously, it's one of the reason why I can't watch some of the music shows in Korea. They keep doing the double or triple replay slow mo zoom in of the audience or celebrities cringey over-exaggerated expressions.

If all the LSF members were 400 lbs acting the same way they did in the clip, would you still be stanning them?
-
Umm...is it just me or does Krystal kind of looks more and more like you know what...

so basically journalists did some nice digging
and they've revealed half is staying and half not
it's kind of like what happened with Mamamoo, or with Girls Generation when members started to leave company and signing different deals
seems like Rose will stay (due to seasons greetings), and won't be surprised if Jisoo is another one but will be signed by their acting agency, unless Jisoo will leave to focus fully on acting to agency which specifies in that, and then would mean one of Jennie, and Lisa is staying within YG
It's kind of vague but I thought the report is that the 4 agreed but only 2 signed so far to use YG only for group activities. There is still no report of any of them signing with YG for full management other than the one last month for Rose.
-
They'll manage their individual activities.
This is a much more traditional American-type recording contract.
Once again just like YG was the first to not have slave contracts and trainee debt, YG will be a pioneer in bringing more freedom and a monumental change to the industry.
And you should be asking why your faves at other labels (I won't name names) don't have the luxury contracts that YG artists have and the freedom.
This is indeed a gamechanger for the Kpop industry.
As some may know, Kpop labels are more than music labels, they are management companies. They manage endorsements, acting gigs etc.
This will be much more in line with an American arrangement.
IE Interscope has no say on Lady Gaga's perfume brand or acting gigs. Roc Nation doesn't manage Rihanna's fashion brand Fenty.
Music, touring, merch...which is where most of the individuals members make their most money...will still be under YG.
And whatever side projects the individual members want to do they have the freedom to do it as long as it doesn't interfere with their group obligations.
I think YG will only manage the group if the members want to do group activities. Any solo albums, solo projects, or solo touring will not be manage by YG.

I think the problem with the solo artists are that they don't sell albums. Even if they do well digitally in Korea, you don't make much money from that in Korea. They are not profitable enough for companies to keep pumping out music. You got to be big enough to sell albums and big enough outside of Korea to hold concert/tours to be profitable.

That is not Wendy from Red Velvet.

I think they relied too much on a concept for too long. While it worked for a while, gp wont love somwthing that is easy to predict forever. People LOVE to be surprised. And at some point, Twice just became predictable. Even with the changes, not only it happened too late but JYP also played safe. The songs were fine but not memorable enough (sure fans may argue against that). It felt like they just gave up imo. Jyp didnt know how to make use of Twice's individual brand power either. Each Twice member had immense star power and popularity. How JYP managed to fumble that is an absolute waste. We won't see idols like Tzuyu, Sana, Nayeon, Mina & etc any soon.
You do realize that Twice is by far the second most profitable girl group in the whole kpop right now. Heck they are probably the second most profitable girl group all time in kpop. JYP is laughing at the other kpop groups like Red Velvet.
-
Well, why not. This is probably one of the few group out there where my vocal wouldn't sound too off or my talent wouldn't seem too far from all the other members. My looks will be a different story though.

So apparently korea/korean charting doesn’t matter according to onces here, ofc unless it’s to brag about twices measly 3 years of relevance in sk…
any gg from big 3 can blow up as rookies… the actual impressive part is staying relevant for a long time. Which twice failed severely at
And red velvet isn’t any better, yeah their music charts but the brand itself isn’t much popular… heck twice still ranks higher in Gallup despite flopping for longer then they were on top atp
And red velvets solos flopped, flopped so hard nobody even remembers it anymore lol
Jisoo and Jennie this year alone out charted both of them… bp is in their own league that twice and red velvet will never come close to
Yes, New Jeans has peaked higher than BP in Korea.
-
Didn't Nayeon alone last year outcharted all of Red Velvet's song this decade?
-
damn, I haven't seem Wendy since last year and now her nose looks totally different.
-
That's all I can think of LOL
I think Red Velvet do have desire but it's just the USA has no desire for Red Velvet.
-
Most people didn't even remembered she was mc last year.
