SM really needs to focus on promoting their girl groups more and bringing back exo (at least promote the ones who aren't in the military).
Aespa needs a major hit, red velvet deserves a real comeback and if they are bringing back snsd, they really need to focus on giving them a great song.
EXO needs a comeback before their fan base dissipates. I feel sorry to all of the EXO-L's who went from getting constant group content to barely anything at all. Of course the members are doing their own thing but they should also be allowed to put out music and promote as a group.

Yessss!
I loved this song when it came out so I'm so glad they're getting the shine that they deserve.

I feel bad for the fans who genuinely wanted an extension but I figured it was a no-go, especially after the results of produce 48 were revealed to be rigged.
I wish them all the best though as one door closes and another opens.

I debated for a long time and ended up choosing neither one. I dislike them both equally. lol

I think their fans are still there. The next comeback will be very telling.

do you think it’s worth it, even if it means less music?
for instance... what if a song does really well for like a whole year? should they not release anything else or is there like am amount of time where it’s okay to release a new one (even if the previous one is still killing it)
like say if a song stayed #1 for a year or two (just a hypothetical) at what point do you say “well it has a life of its own now, let’s promote something new”?
That's why I initially voted 6 months. If the song is doing SUPER well (take Dynamite from BTS, for instance), I wouldn't interrupt that song's success just for the sake of having more music. But in about 6 months, the public usually starts to get tired of it or may want something new.
However, in typical cases, I'd say about 3 to 4 months in. That allows for promotion, variety appearances, etc. I think a lot of groups promote a song for like two weeks and then disappear, which imo isn't long enough.
-
so would you say it depends on how well (longevity and exposure) the song is doing?
Right. Because if a song is doing exceptionally well, it makes no sense to interrupt it's success to release another single. Let the song chart as high as it needs to and then, when interest begins to drop considerably, it's time for a new single.

I'd say 3 to 6 months. Give the songs some time to get played and then swap it once the public is starting to lose interest.
