Tbh this isn’t a good example as even Girls aespa worse performing comeback and most mixed reviews reached 7/8 in charts and same for other girl groups
I mean weren’t people having a go at both Newjeans and Ive for not reaching 1 labelling their comeback flops despite reaching 1/2 in almost every chart saying their hype had gone etc that’s the standard we have for 4th gen top girl groups title tracks. LSF didn’t go from charting 1/2 to 15/20 but out of top 50 in such a short amount of time is very drastic and imo can only happened if the majority of the public turned on them. Which was why I am surprised that the scandals had such a drastic impact in a short time ( with HYBE drama too I guess)
But aren't the groups mentioned (NJS, IVE, Aespa) basically the top 3 groups from 4th gen, specially when we're talking about Korean charts? Genuine question
I still have the same opinion, they came back too soon and after Easy didn't live up for Korean gp expectations, Crazy just isn't interesting. Tbh I don't even think Antifragile and Unforgiven are what we usually see in the top for korean charts but somehow it happened.
I agree with the person here who said that that most people don't care about the type of scandal LSF had, tbh if a lot of people liked the song it would have charted well regardless of the encore issue or Coachella. I think MelOn is very simple to understand and it's really, REALLY not like LSF is the fist Kpop group ever who had some trouble singing live.
The only song in the album imo that could have done better is Pierrot and I'll die on this hill. It's a fun song, the concept around it is interesting and it's a sample from Pierrot laugh at us. The thing is, i don't think it would do as well as Crazy in the west. If promoted, maybe it can pull a Dolphin in MelOn, who knows?
