the word 재탕 comes from the Hanja 再湯, meaning Again+Steep/Boil (as in tea). It literally means to reboil a second cup of tea, but is colloquially used when repeating or rehashing the same thing.

As long as Hybe owns Ador NewJeans' IP is theirs. NewJeans members might be able to keep any individual deals but will have to negotiate the release of the IP rights with Hybe. So albums, songs, music videos, group name, fandom name, fan app will all stay with Hybe if newjeans terminate their contract. They'll likely would have to pay a lot of additional money to get those rights back from Hybe.

i have to admit i let the situation get a hold of me and am completely uninterested in listening to the newjeans tracks which i usually did a lot. but i think streaming as a whole has become weaker for kpop acts. i doubt it's because of 'activism'. even sales have decreased.
i bet most streaming activity this year will come from bp solos. they're clearly invested in it.
