i don’t listen to japanese idol groups, but i do frequently listen to japanese popular music. for me, it’s quite easy to tell the difference— k-pop, in my opinion, uses far more electronic elements than jpop. jpop also seems to frequently have somewhat of a rock element to me… it has a very distinct sound. but this is just when i’m comparing jpop to the k-pop groups that actually sing in japanese well

sometimes if a k-pop group/artist makes a song that is intended solely for japan and wasn't originally in korean, it does sound a lot like a jpop song. examples i can think of off the top of my head are Hitori no Yoru, Ito, and Ring by TXT.

i guess it would depend on your level of social media influence (how many non-k-pop fans know you), and what section of that social media you end up in besides the same old k-pop circle

i’ve only have had a very specific demographic of people say things like that to me (mostly in person).

right now i’m just trying to get my guild badge, i already have 60 something akorns and i believe that one is 100.

in the future, i’m hoping to be able to get fandom badges for all the fandoms i’m in (at least however many i can fit on my profile).

but all i want at this moment is the guild badge, haha.

my TXT bias is Yeonjun. as for my favourite songs, it’s actually extremely hard for me to pick, i personally think all of their songs are no skip.

the other groups i stan… there’s a lot. i’m definitely a humongous multi stan. a few just include Stray Kids (they’re my second favourite next to TXT), ENHYPEN, (G)I-DLE, Mamamoo, Red Velvet, IU and AKMU (i don’t think they’re k-pop but eh…), and some of the artists i casually listen to are TWICE, SEVENTEEN, BLACKPINK, ATEEZ, ITZY, TREASURE and NCT.

i know this sounds strange but i’d really like a gg that debuted with a more bg-like/masculine concept. just bg style promotion, styling, choreography, and music sound, but the members are girls. i’m just slightly tired of girl groups being quite feminine most of the time.

my music taste changed—what i liked to listen to no longer aligned with the group, and they weren’t very active in general so there was barely any content from them to maintain my full interest.

for me, it’s definitely the pink mullet from Blue Hour, and the black hair with the undercut from Freeze/Fight or Escape.
