Ive and aespa and itzy have been above red velvet this year. I meant that the other groups have become bigger than red velvet globally.

But it's working for twice globally. Imagine if that one song doesn't stick. The group loses it's status. Twice has been very lucky that one song hits with global audience out of their multiple releases. It's been done since 2017.

2021- the feels

They have had one hit every year which is why they are the top girl group.

Red velvet is similar to twice. they had one hit every year to be a top group.

2021 they didn't and that was game over for them.

This is what top groups do even bts. release multiple songs every year and one sticks.

Kpop companies should never attempt to do a blackpink. It will work if the first release every year is a hit like 2017 aiiyl 2018 d4 2019 ktl. But if the first song doesn't click, the year can only be saved with a hit second release or it's a huge loss. Blackpink has three releases in 2020 two releases in 2022 and both these years they only need 1 hit to keep their top group status.

after vmas, blackpink should take the no.1. Promo is needed but the stability of the song is great.

I was surprised they didn't go all in for the billboard charts with a english single but I guess we are just having hylt 2.0(Pink Venom) and ice cream 2.0(Doja cat collab?) for Born Pink. The low streams of lovesick girls might be another reason why yg will never make another lsg as title track. Say what u want, but I think yg is making the right decisions for blackpink. Lovesick girls has less streams than hylt and ice cream. But still, blinks needed lovesick girls after ice cream mess (tommy brown u clown). Pink venom has not been received well but it's the usual bp formula so i'm not worried about it's reception too much it is gonna get streams. kpop fans been throwing tantrums about bp songs since kill this love nothing new.

Feeling sad that 3rd gen is over.

Not only did they make bts be in more need of radioplay this year but they also blocked radioplay for their korean songs forcing them to release more english songs from 2020 onwards. It's really puzzling that a group that they so eagerly invited first in 2017 for more fan engagement quickly became a threat to them and western artist dominance in music.

Blackpink needs blink support this year. They are coming back with their 2nd full album to be the best in kpop this year. A kpop group hasn't hit no.1 on global 200 this year yet. and no global spotify no.1 this year for a kpop group. The best yt record this year is just little less than 50m. YG will be aiming for no.1 in bb200 so there's a lot blackpink needs blinks for.

Rules always change so we can do nothing about filtering. We have to focus on this year instead of overall because a group is only as good as their last performance.

Only IU, Bigbang and reality show songs can hit no.1 first day. Everyone else will have to rise and take the no.1. NewJeans is an absolute force rn and they already look like the winners of August. Bp and ive will have to do something special or there's no chance.
