One has been a million seller for years, the other become one some months ago so everyone is confused right now about this, so what happened? nctzens conspiracy theorists are saying sm is sabotaging nct 127 because of contract renewal and military enlistment. In gidle case the excuse is being an english album and their fans are not interested in buying it, but those sales are unbelievable low... where are those magical chinese bars that can span millions of sales continuously with no problem?

maybe but not because of digitals and physical sales, those are not that profitable for singers no matter the bloated numbers we see now. Lesserafim did a decent tour this year plus all the other sources of income is impossible any high tier group member is earning less than $1M at year rn.

IVE: 1,622,476 copies sold

Barely behind IVE, and overall, only behind IVE, aespa and NJ.

Also, they actually are backed by Hybe. NewJeans is independently operated by ADOR and Min Heejin--she goes out of her way to make it clear she's responsible for all things related to NewJeans.

LSF was actually the concept and brainchild of Bang Si-Hyuk, so if he were to lend his full support behind a group, it would be LSF.

Yeah i think i exaggerated a bit, ive seemed to be so above just a month ago with all the great digital results, sales and potential that i didnt see the full picture.

still way behind ive and aespa, those girls dont have a single #1 hit or pak, if they release a song not in the taste of kpop stans and general public they will do way worse than ive because they are not backed by hybe like newjeans is

twice just stopped promoting in korea after what is love in 2018, stopped going to festivals and other popular activities in 2019, jyp isolate them by dropping most of their korean brand deals in 2020 i guess because the contract renewal was near. That, the change in concept, some controversies and the rise of new girl groups who catered more to young audiences slowly killed their career in korea.

But it doesn't matter, having korea is nice but not having it is nothing crucial either, like no girl group have completed 8 years of career being more successful than twice, and they are still in the top 3 girl groups right now.

Off The Record fell 23 positions on melon daily chart to be #63, has this happened to a ive song before? weekends are bad for songs with not big fandom supporting so monday will tell us the future of this song.

yg used to latest promotional strategy in the music industry of releasing 2 versions of the same song so the spotify streams get combined and the final numbers boosted, you can cut like 40% or 30% of those streams without that. Even without that the results would be impressive to be honest.

Lim young-woong has a good chance too, he has big fandom support and public recognition, most of the artists you mentioned have no chance even for the top 10 monthly. Melon chart is so weak right now that anybody with 30k-50k fans will chart lot of songs very high in the realtime chart, and the realtime chart influence heavily the unique listeners rankings, last year LYW fandom was charting 40 songs in the top 50 like nothing, this will affect the other songs rankings.
