That's my definition of soft disbanding: focusing on solo activities in different companies, not giving priority to the group, making a reunion comeback each 2 or 3 years for some kick buck and thats blackpink possibility if they don't officially disband. And no, they are the biggest girl group right now because newjeans is barely a 1 year old group, newjeans is competing in so many areas and taking away so many records that bp can't resist another year without making a very strong comeback. Only thing newjeans needs is a international hit song like dududu and they will become the biggest girl group without a doubt.

8 years ago the best girl group debuted with The Story Begins, the best titled debut album. Let's go for way more years

Lisa and Rose were so strong in MAMA voting 2021 that most onces knew that twice ending above them was because blinks have to divide their attention and than if it was blackpink alone twice couldn't compete, and that was proved right on the 2022 voting.
But now jisoo is struggling to be in top 15 competing with a boy group i have never heard off called evnne??? and itzy, so what the fuck is going on? blinks are sleeping? I had the idea jisoo was the 3rd most popular blackpink member considerable above rose so this is surprising for me.

They absolutely do not like international power when they’re doing better than all 4th gen girlies beside NJ
That was before IVE current era, they were very strong i was surprised by love dive and after like international numbers but now they are doing itzy and red velvet level of international charting, which is bad.

I'm with you in most of your ramblings about IU because they come as goofy nonsense but this time is not it bro.

The current state of kpop makes a statement that would have been nonsensical just 3 years ago possible, it already happened to SNSD the top group on 2nd gen which achievements seemed unattainable to any gg not named twice and blackpink exactly just 3 years ago, their name was wiped out of top 10 by rookie groups with less than 2 years of career an 2 or 3 albums, in the next years some 5th gen girl groups will straight up debut selling million of albums with no justification just like some boy groups started to do this year, a thing only possible in the current fraudulent state of kpop.
There is 8 million seller girl groups approaching their total korean sales, one (IVE) surpassed them just this week with another 2 with confirmed comebacks in next weeks. Blackpink will either officially disband soon or go in a soft disband focusing even way more on solo activities and taking more time to release an album than their usual 1-2 years gap, with all those million sellers 4th gen groups releasing at least 2 albums each year is just inevitable. As much as i dislike blinks and will enjoy this happen I have to admit how of a joke this is, a group like red velvet who was selling 10 times less in 2020 can sell now 50% of a blackpink album sales and aim to surpass them, somehow we have to believe red velvet multiplied their sales x10 in a 3 years span and blackpink barely x2? Stop Kpop I Want to Get Off!!!!!

So once some groups dont do well in youtube, it becomes irrelevant? Youtube was irrelevant when only balckpink did well on debut era, then it became relevant when other groups like BTS twice doing good. And now back to irrelevancy when they not doing well 🤔🤔
No, you have your facts messed up because twice and bts were the one who started doing numbers on youtube and making fans hype those numbers on 2016. Youtube numbers were not that important before anyway but now are irrelevant at least for me because they dont show how successful a song is, you can only do numbers if your company pays millions on ads in most of the cases. Aespa better things did like 50M in some days thanks to ads but after it barely gained any views, views are meaningless

Oh so you're just a garden variety moron.
I was hoping for more fun.
What does that even mean?
-
i agree with the mr beast thing btw. that dude is out of control and needs to be stopped
Yeah this is ridiculous, what happened to the game i love?
-
maybe spotify expanding? more access to countries? becoming the better easy access platform? subscription was probablyh cheaper back then?
And youtube is basically unusable without premium or an ad blocker now, with all the changes of policies most of the time kpop fandoms didn't even knew what the streaming rules were.

They are just a bunch of inexperienced 20 years old women who let the success take over their heads and made a series of really bad decisions. Kpop companies will always be trash no matter what but they should have waited 1 or 2 years to earn some nice money and fans, push the company a little and negotiate for slight better conditions privately and after that start demanding all the things they want.

If you put aside whynock absurdly insane takes about IU you can find some great insight about kpop there and there.
Melon prominence will probably disappear without the need of anyone, the platform is losing users each year, the songs on the top right now have like 20%-30% less listeners than last year. The decrease of listeners made charting outside top 10 for like 50 weeks straight up meaningless, songs like Cake from Itzy and Teddy Bear from Stayc barely got ~10M streams after weeks on the top 25. IU will lose influence with time and the decline of melon, but she will always be successful.

Now that I think about it: how did it happen so quickly? Not that long ago it was all about Youtube and now it's all about Spotify. Spotify has been around for a while, so it's not the new thing everyone is trying. Why did nobody care about Spotify in 2021, but they do now?
i noticed twice started doing better on spotify than on youtube in late 2021 with doughnut, moonlight sunrise, talk that talk and pop all have bigger number on spotify. and newjeans can easily have 3 or 4 times more streams on spotify than on youtube, meanwhile on youtube music is the same way more streams.
-
Mate I’m IN reality, you seem to be up your own ass.
Every Kpop fandom mass streams, mind you PV, SD mv still rack up more daily views this year then anny other Kpop comeback besides jisoo Flower Take the L.
not everyone got sea streaming farms friend, stop crying, thats not even the point of the thread but a side note but nobody can't mention blackpink without you being a cry baby.
-
some of the best visuals on the industry being wasted on jyp because that company is scared shitless of big mean china for their other groups when twice and onces don't care about that country at all.
-
Oh the salt don’t be mad bp is more popular in SEA
All of us have seen blinks paying for entire cyber cafes with hundreds of machines looping blackpink videos, thats just damn hard facts they will do big numbers without them because of their great video production and their videos are watched by kpop fans in general and outside of kpop but stop denying reality friend.

From one of the strongest 4th gen groups in youtube views to barely scratch 20M views after weeks, kakao and starship didn't used ads this era? or despite the ads the numbers are this low? Even if IVE couldn't catch the attention of kpop fans and general public this time numbers are absurdly low, groups like loona, dreamcatcher and gfriend used to pull numbers like this or better 2 or 3 years ago, I watched with my own eyes how Baddie did 7M in 7 hours but after that only 3M were added, youtube has become a ridiculous platform.
Has youtube rigged their own platform to point the only viable way to do well is to buy ads directly from them?
screenshot-www.youtube.com-2023.10.16-14_19_25.png
JYP didn't used ads for jihyo and onces could barely do 15M views after a month, misamo was doing barely better doing like 20M after 2 weeks without ads but when japanese onces bought ads the music video gained 50M of views in like 3 weeks. Even armys with the biggest and most organized fandom in the world can barely scratch 100M views for the most popular members like jimin and jungkook unless the song go mega popular, v who is the 3rd most popular didn't got close.
screenshot-www.youtube.com-2023.10.16-15_28_11.png
All this meanwhile Mr Beast stupid ass videos get 70M in 24 hours each time, what a damn joke. Seems like the only group who can pull big numbers anymore is blackpink thanks to the SEA streaming farms, i guess youtube will lose its meaning for kpop fans in some time.

Practically every group had 3x-5x massive sales increase starting from '20, not sure if this also applied 1:1 when it comes to album sales revenues, kinda curious about that tbh.
Eh, Red Velvet already had good sales even before the k-pop wide sales increases, and this was noticeable when after restocks of their old albums years later they managed to sell additional 100,000s of them.
Stop shading other groups as an argument to stand up Itzy, because you'll be as bad the OP is with his shade baiting.
I am not defending itzy, i also believe them selling 1 million of albums at the same time as twice was fake and one of the worst pr stunts jyp ever pulled.
red velvet sales makes no sense, the restock of their older albums are also nonsensical if those are because new fans are buying their old stuff why their streaming stats on youtube and spotify dont increase too? you can literally see every time twice had a jump in sales their other numbers also increased. I'm not being shady i'm speaking my mind out with participating in this farce of justifying sales that are ridiculous.
