She doesn't really stand out tbh, her skills are not gruesome but definitely not ready to debut and none of her performances so far have really shown why she should be a solid lock for debuting. I do think that most of her voters are indeed MOAs and it's funny whenever they deny that they are voting her for being Kai's sister because I know deep down that they know they are doing that exact thing

If anything, she would probably be more of an Inaba Vivienne rather than a Myah if she wasn't Kai's sister.

MNet set themselves up with that absurd ratio honestly. Now they are hoping that international fans would mass panic vote their C/J favorites otherwise having 8 Korean trainees in the final line-up would give them major flak and highly likely that they will lose the support of Chinese and Japanese fans.

Always felt that Yurina had a less dedicated one-pick fanbase compared to the other Japanese trainers and the popular ones so I was preparing myself not to see Yurina debut but Xiao Ting was a real shocker, I think it's maybe because some of her more casual fans thought there were already enough voters for her and got too lenient. Damn, that absurd ratio definitely fucked this up. If the final line-up consists of only 1-2 international members that would be a personal disaster and I believe for quite a lot of others too.

There must be a hidden motive behind MNet publishing this ranking, Korean voters and MNet are probably raging that it's Rui Qi who's in the Top 9 and not Xiao Ting

I have a feeling with editing being MNet's main weapon now that the mentors are more like puppets to make what MNet wants the viewers to think of the contestants happen (I won't be surprised if these mentors are told by MNet what to say tbh). And with the contestants being somewhat more seasoned than the previous seasons, the major improvement like in PD48 wouldn't be as viable so well the mentors are only there to critique and deliver confidence-shattering comments. I do wonder about the comments that didn't make it into the final cut though

But yeah, overall, the mentors in this season are quite useless, not really helping the contestants get better, and even didn't intervene when Ito Miyu had a problem with her vocals as a result of over practicing the high note. Maybe MNet didn't allow them to so their story with that group wouldn't be spoiled, who knows

Yeah, Sulli's album had dreamy-like beautiful songs but has a hint of eeriness to them which I adore so much. Dorothy has to be my favorite. It's a shame we'll never get to see everything Sulli had to offer.

Although the situation is better than what it was back during their earlier days, wish JYP would make more songs that play to Lia's strengths as a vocalist. That clip of her singing pre-debut is still my favorite clip of her singing to date

Idk if it's her real voice or not but I really enjoy it when Sana sings in that deeper tone.

Tbh, I feel like the Korean trainees of this batch were quite lackluster compared to the previous editions. The only ones that stood out for me are Yeseo, Youngeun, You Dayeon, and Myah. Even the ones that have debuted in a relatively known group (Jiwon, Seungeun, Yujin, and Bora) didn't really blow me away. I think the only one with actual center quality among the girls I've mentioned are Yeseo and Myah with Myah still being concept-restricted at her age, Youngeun gave me more of a Yena vibe and You Dayeon has stan attractor potential but not center. (Honestly, I still don't understand why they'd push K. Dayeon over Yeseo).

The surviving Japanese girls + Ruan and Chinese trainees are definitely the more eye-catching of the bunch this season.
