Nct and aespa yt views r highly inflated due to ads. Nct used to never get high yt views before.
SM seems to have adopted ads just like rest of the industry. Some nugu company groups have even more ads than SM and JYP groups.
High time the music shows remove the yt criteria. It's unfair to groups who use negligible ads.
Charting does matter. U can try to deny this as much as u want. Why do idols post pics of topping melon if it didn't matter? How many post pics of topping hanteo realtime? Lol
Artists want max number of people to listen to their music.
Only in kpop u see groups sell so much with poor digital and streams.

How can black mamba be a hit but yall swore up and down that latata, icy, hann, dumdi dumdi, fiesta, lion ect. Were not hits. Im confused on what constitutes as a hit anymore
I'd say cross 500-600M digital index. It's a hit. If u can't cross this mark it's just not a hit. Spend some weeks in top10.
Black mamba is no where close to being a hit. Icy, hann, dd, fiesta can't be considered hits either.

It's not dead. I'd say it's as active as before. The difference is everything is sectioned after the revamp. The attention is divided.
Actually i am shocked at how active its after the revamp.
Also the trolls haven't yet arrived in full strength.
