SHINee (샤이니) is a South Korean contemporary boy group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2008. The group consists of Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin. They made their debut on May 25, 2008, on SBS's Inkigayo with their single, "Replay", which is to this date considered to be one of the most iconic K-Pop debut songs. SHINee is considered to be a fashion icon having started the "SHINee Trend" and are known for their highly synchronized and complex dancing. The name SHINee is a word play and means "the one who receives" the light which means that their goal as a contemporary band is to be a trendsetter in all areas of music, fashion, dance etc.
