Mentally and physically, debuting as an idol or even a trainee at a young age is has more disadvantages than advantages.
Yes the kids will be able to reach perfection at a young age, but his childhood will be really different from other kids.
And the "yes but they chose it" is kinda cruel, because kids are lured by fame at a young age but dont understand all consequences it implies.
In my opinion trainees under 14/15 shouldn't be allowed with a certain degree of maturity and idols. should debut at 19/20. I don't want to see kids and want to see women and men that can be strong enough in the entertainment industry.
If I take NCT DREAM : they debuted at a very young age and the youngest (Jisung) even had years of training/acting before, same like Jeno. Mark and Haechan already debuted at 15/16 as idols, (Haechan as always be very smart and mature), Chenle already was a professional singer. They all were pre promoted with the smrookies Mickey Mouse show, and today they the most popular NCT unit in SK, but it was a very risky move from SM.
They set limits and they said the boys will only promote one time in year and still going to school (what happened)
they grew together and they have a strong bond. But Jisung mentioned several times he has no friends outside NCT. They work since they 15.
Its like child actors or athletes. I think its too extreme to begin too young. 20 is def a good age to debut because 7 years contract : 27 and then go to military.

for the variety, they did their own shows on their YT channel and thats how they gained fans. Their contents is good, refreshing and always kinda innovative.
Now that they send some members on korean variety shows, maybe they will gain popularity in the korean gp. but they a bg, and super large, its not easy.
maybe the day they will chart ppl will say they successful. anyways, they sell a lot, and since day 1 SM said fuck chart and korean gp validation with the experimental music they got..
anticipating the day Koreans will find it cool to listen to NCT...Kick it was great I have to say.

but its kinda weird because the chance or debuting are super high for male trainees because of NCT system AnD a new bg.
So yeah maybe its the age factor (they debut 00, 01 liners) or that they don't fit the new concept (rumors said its gonna be a smcu risky concept like Aespa).
another possibility is that they have plenty of trainees but not talented enough. the bar is high.
I read somewhere, not sure at all about the source lol, that sm have some amazing vocalist trainees or dancers but don't have a lot of trainees with stage presence. And this is, at the end of the day, what they need to got to be stars. Charisma, stage presence, good personality, all rounders with one speciality, etc. even for SM, its not easy to find

SM has decided to move up a gear to finalize the lineup of its smnbg which will be representative of the 4th generation.
They re-opened their weekly auditions and announced debuting a fresh new bg with a unique concept that target the world. They are independent from the NCT brand.
Meanwhile, a large new NCT unit will debuting in the year.
The ratio girls/boys in SM will def get worse lol...
Considering the fact that SM has a lot of male trainees in the dungeon, it does mean some trainees left even though their chance of debuting (bcs of NCT) are high, or because they don't fit the new bg concept.
So SM will recruit new talents and train them in a short period like Shotaro and Giselle. Its risky !

So Jungwoo is in one unit, always in the back, no center position, no solo promotion except very recently with some variety content, few lines in songs, placed in the underrated U unit of 2020, had a hiatus last year, always pushed back by SM...
He def can be Korea sweetheart if his agency capitalize on his talent and personality.
Lets appreciate him ! 2021 will be Jungwoo year !!

This was literally the era that made me finally stan a new kpop group after over a decade. I'm going to miss it a lot
wow same ! I only stan EXO (for a short period lol) and its been 8-9 years...I was very interested in them during Spring Ridin and Punch era but I began to spend my money on them (lol important point) during Resonance. I was so hyped, im still not over Resonance, and it was an amazing and funny time, watching their content everyday, listening to their songs...
I don't regret it and im so ready for 127 mini jp album. NCT never disappoints when it comes to music !
