Imagine if YG debuts a new GG and gives them regular comebacks, promotion, albums and activities. I'd pop a blood vessel.
I'd be happy for them though, but angry for BP.

basically in his mind, kpop is only kpop when it aligns with his taste. when it doesn’t cater to his personal subjective that means kpop is dead lmao. ive’s narcissism has absolutely nothing on him
i mean damn I like a good hip-hop or EDM song too but it's just nice to hear a good R&B pop song from a gg

If it was some nugu song that went nowhere, it would be fine. I wouldnt care about it.
But i've said it before and i'll say it again...these girls are an existential threat to the rest of Kpop, the success of the song could be a cultural reset, much like Twice Cheer Up and BP's DDDD. We could see groups coming out with more boring rehashed 90s music instead of coming out with what makes Kpop so amazing (the fusion of different genres i mentioned earlier).
Attention could be the death knell of Kpop and folks are welcoming this with open arms
Because rehashed EDM beats is what KPop is all about?

I don't see how saying Attention is refreshing in KPOP is making their music something it's not?
I don't think people are saying NJ reinvented the wheel. Just they debuted with a genre that is typically ignored in KPOP. Yes, we had Red Velvet and f(X) who had similar styles, but f(X) stopped promoting almost 10 years ago and Red Velvet have not had a chill R&B title track since One of These Nights, which was awhile ago. People are just happy to see a young group doing something a little different to the trend in Korea. I don't think people are saying more than that.
That's literally what I've been trying to say in the OP not saying it's innovative it's just nice to hear when the mainstream for KPop are songs heavy on the hip hop

kpop isn't about anything. Kpop can be anything.
It's Kpop, just enjoy the flow.
they act like Kpop was always about songs like Pirate or D4 when we had groups like S.E.S.

stayc release beautiful monster which was a chill laid back song and y'all booed them
Cause people want So Bad 3.0 or RUN2U 1.0

Thought this was Simon Says

+100000000
There are a billion songs on the Hot 100 filled with 'chill' stripped down songs. We dont need that in Kpop.
How is a song like Attention gonna ruin KPop?

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but when I heard NJ's Attention I felt like it was such a refreshing sound in a time where KPop is mostly known for it's dance-pop, EDM or hip-hop songs.
It was nice to hear a laid back, chill song wish we had more releases like this. Also it was nice seeing a girl group not doing a girl crush anthem

YG need to let BP release music more than once a year.
