They were supposed to take a break from group albums an start solo activities in 2020 itself, after world tour. Suga has got his surgery was to be in fit before enlisting. And then the law has passed which allowed them to postpone for 2 years. So basically Jin can enlist anytime before december. Why should they have to enlist earlier? Literally every idols has waited till the last moment. Some evn enlisted on their birthdays. None of them announced anything before months or years ago.

The alternative service or complete exemption has given to many korean men and has anyone rejected that and went to military? The agencies were using BTS' name to make a law for popstars and Bighit wasnt even there. BTS or Hybe never asked for this in the first place.

He literally said there was difference in opinions. He has time till december but he wanted to enlist earlier not in winter. Ofcourse, their company would wait for the final decision. But the members took this decision and the govt didnt even know this. There was even articles about that. And govt is still trying to make ammendments.

Do people know these human right violations happens in Korea as well? same-sex marriage is still banned there. No such laws to protect sexual and gender minorities. But i guess that doesnt fall under human rights according to some of yall.

Your second argument doesn’t really concern me I suggest re reading my reply.

Anyway this is not a point to even discuss further. The reason BTS will be held to a Different standard is they are getting compared to western artists to refused to perform there and not other kpop acts. That’s all I wanted to say. And many are looking at them to set the standard for kpop.

Going too much into morality is confusing because I myself am not really well read. Hence I said it doesn’t matter what is “morally” right in my first post.

Isnt the government regulation same for every country? I mean it is a big event and they would need permission from concerned authorities right?

BTS performed in saudi for their own concert. Not a govt sponsored event.

There are groups who has performed in the festivals and kpop concerts held in middle east before.

Saudi arabia held KCon this year and many groups have performed. But nobody was trending hashtags to stop them or tagging human rights organisations this time.

Everyone knows this but morality is very rarely something that fuels anything in the ent world.

So let’s leave that out for a second.

Big name artists have declined publicly to perform in these countries as a political statement. They have been condemned and called out. And this is the group that BTS should be compared to. Becuase that’s their playing ground.

In BTS’s case it doesn’t really matter what other kpop fans are saying. Even if all the kpop fans kept quiet they would receive criticism from the boarder audience that consumes their content.

TLDR : everyone should be criticized but it’s most likely that only what BTS does will become a big enough news one way or the other. People shouldn’t be asking why they get criticized more and instead ask why they aren’t leading by example for the rest of kpop as well as other acts. What they did would have set precedence and it was a missed opportunity.

JK is shooting some promotional song it seems. If BTS is the opening act then they wouldve shot it together. I think its gonna be multiple artists opening the show along with JK.

there are good and bad songs in every genre and every language

svt might be able to surpass their album sales with 10 more versions, can win the 'best kpop' catagory, daesangs but the impact wouldnt be the same.

currently a lot groups has bigger sales and more awards than blackpink yet bp is the second biggest group.

also no other bg has reached the 2017 bts level even with higher sales and #1's.

BP has more english songs in their one album than other groups singles.

Blackpink also has said the same.
