It doesn't. You were the one who brought up ARMY being on the scene in seconds. If you want to play it that way, I can show you they were actually not there in seconds and that every single user who took issue with me stanned BP. But hey, this isn't about fandoms right? I had a private convo with Ves in the DMs and it went no where. When I saw other people calling Ves out for their Jim Jones comments, I jumped in because I was very frustrated. Maybe I shouldn’t have done that.
I think I’m a bit on edge because racism and discrimination against black people in my country is just getting worse without justice. I’m tired and just frustrated in general. The Jim Jones comments just didn’t sit right with me at all because I know what he did to people struggling with systemic racism.
Please stop lying. You were the first person to DM me your outrage. No one else was calling me out for closing that thread. I have timestamps.
And you can be mad and frustrated at racial injustice in your country. but I don't appreciate it being taken out on me.

i mean at the end of the day what ves said was not entirely false or pulled out of her ass. she provided her source. the fact of the matter is, jim jones was not documented as having any specifically racist outward ideologies. he took advantage of black people, he took advantage of systematic racism, he was a horrible person. but i just dont see why the simple statement of " he wasn't racist" became an all out war.
and maybe its really just the semantics of it all. people can do things that are perceived as racist and not be consciously racist. many people feed into systematic racism but don't truly believe black people to be "lesser than". thats just my opinion tho.
anyway maybe this became a huge misunderstanding. but all i know is i saw you calling ves racist over this and that was entirely out of pocket and not true. this discussion started out uncordial because of that claim and the aggressiveness only spiraled

What you didn’t mention (probably on purpose) was that he did this to lure in followers who were in need of help. He specifically targeted black people. 70% of the 900 people who died were black.
Anyways, since you keep doubling down, I really think you should post your Jim Jones thoughts on LSA. Maybe a bunch of AAs will help you understand since you don’t care what anyone has to say here.

I was upset by Ves lying about what really happened with Jim Jones. Ves was acting like Jim Jones was a savior to black people, when in reality, he manipulated and abused them to attain power.
I got into this because of that, not BTS. About the controversy though, if you apologize and own up to your mistakes, I forgive and move on. Big Hit and SUGA both did that so it’s water under the bridge for me. I don’t think SUGA is racist.
Edit: aclassyteaparty You should see this too. My post had nothing to do with BTS. I was just mad at what Ves said specifically about Jim Jones.
I said he wasn't racist. I never said he was a savior. Why are you putting words in my mouth? Everyone can see exactly what I said.

Ves if you're going to be sensitive and find any thin af reason to shut down a thread that even mentions your faves in less than positive light, you shouldn't be a mod.

Jim Jones targeted distressed black people so that he could prop himself up as a White Savior figure. He saw them as lesser than and used them for money and free labor. It doesn't matter if he was for integration, it was just one of his many obvious manipulation tactics. Wtf kinda person are you?

Not a racist one no matter how much you want to try and bring that up. I have actually studied Jonestown and Jim Jones and while he had his flaws, the history books will be on my side about this. The forum rules state that anything claimed as fact has to be proved - I can give you many many sources from PBS to Encyclopedia Brittanica backing up my assertion. But this isn't the place for a discussion like that. This is the Ask-A-staff thread. Thank you!

I use Adobe Photoshop since it has some nice features that might be difficult to accomplish in other graphics editors, but any editor that can make transparent pngs should work! Gimp included.
