I can only tell from my experience. K dramas and some 1st gen groups like HOT or Shinhwa introduced Kpop to SEA countries. Second gen popularized Kpop there. Kpop became big in SEA during 2000s but not well known in western countries.
Some second gen groups tried to break into the US but they didnt make any noise at all. Until Gangnam style happened, that was when I was shocked when I heard a girl played Gangnam style in Germany. And I think Gangnam style did a big job introducing Kpop to the west.
The third gen popularized Kpop in the west which second gens failed to do so.
Music wise, Kpop music is not respected by gp anywhere even in Korea or SEA countries where Kpop is very popular. Kpop fans here in SEA are looked down often as a bunch of kids who are obsessed with shiny cheesy girls and boys with noisy and childish music.
Personally, I think second gen songs are more catchy and their choreos are more iconic and memorable. Its iconic because its really Kpop but it was also cringy because its too Kpop. The third gen is less cringy with their concepts and music so they appear more to the west.
I dont know why some of you glorifying second gen like they are superior than other gens. Every gen has their moment.
So overall, if we take out BTS and BP, then the second gen was bigger but if we include BTS and BP, the the third gen is the biggest and the most popular Kpop era till date.

Did they just give Jungkook that coconut hair again?

I saw it yesterday. I feel really bad for Mr. Son. They even attacked his family. Thats so sick. And on K-site, they are attcking J//K for that 7seconds dancebreak and organizing mass emails to BH
They cause the members too much stress. I dont think any members would consider akgaes as their fans. They do nothing other than damaging the groups the even the member who they are supposed to stan

Now we wait and hope for longevity too. Dynamite is big because it has insane longevity. BTSs growth in Japan is insane. Thanks to Dynamite, you have done a great job there

i think they will have an epic dance break for Butter since the song is quite short and Im all for it

I dont understand how someone can say JK has a generic voice. While Korean have been praising his unique vocal color since day one. Jungkook always surprises me with his versatility.
I love his lower and raspy voice the most. I think the day he chooses to do a sexy song with his lower register will be the dead of me
-
Hope for its longevity

Its not only Armys for sure. Butter draws GPs interest and Kpop fans interest

I hope they give every streaming platform the same importance

I don't know about others but I've been doing most of my streaming on Spotify. It's easier for me there.
It didnt debut on US Apple music. I really think many just focus on youtube
-
Is the fandom focusing too much on youtube? It seems that the focus is more on youtube than Spotify and AM. I hope Im wrong
-
This is based on Korea only, right? Dont Korean use Naver search more than Google?

I dont get it. Arent VPN sales supposed to be always filtered? Then why did they need to delay to do it for this week? Shouldnt it just be a normal procedure for Billboard to do it?
Can someone tell me why?
