Kris Wu situation is very different. DMZ wasn't the first person to speak out against him. There were others before but if they ever trended on weibo, his team would buy other trends and get that deleted. He belongs to I think Beijing circle or something and had very strong backers, who protected him because their investment was at stake. Him being in jail hurts a lot of big companies. Tencent alone lost 600million yuan investment because his drama was shelved thanks to the scandal. The only reason this even came out was because DMZ was smart enough to align with a marketing account (they are like gossip accounts on weibo) and make a big impact (misreported by Korean newsites as an attempt to gain publicity).

Everyone has their own opinions but unless you followed the whole thing on Chinese sites or through C-ent news channels, I would caution you because not a lot of information made it to the Korean/international sites. I don't want to get into but there's very little chance that he is innocent.

It's different productions. Untamed was Tencent. TGCF is iQiyi. Tencent did pour more money into their dangais. Just look at Haoyixing, SPL and Saye. Gorgeous. But apparently, them and iQiyi were bidding on the copyright and it was getting too expensive so they gave up. iQiyi is also more known for their modern dramas so it makes sense that the quality for this one is not too good. Also, before TGCF had the same director as Untamed but he quit. They have someone new now.

I am in a discord server where the real leaks are posted. There's quite a few and nah. The make of the costumes is just bad. Qi Rong's costumes had a cord, not even adorned one at that, for a belt. It's like they forget to make one so they just used a cord. Xie Lian's princely robes...nah. ALP extras had better costume than that.

Yes, I am very bitter about this adaptation.

I didn't particularly mind Untamed. It wasn't the highest quality either but I think I cut it a lot of slack because it was the first BL xianxia. Now after looking at 2ha adaption, I am spoiled. Their styling is so on point. I expected something similar for TGCF.

I think it will continue. I didn't hear anything about it being discontinued.

It just came out today or yesterday if we go by China time.

I don't like the live action. I have such low expectations. It's cheap and outfits are not well made. Even cosplayers have better stuff. I think iQiyi blew the budget on buying the copyrights to the IP. I am honestly sad since I waited for so long for this danmei to be adapted and I don't really like much about the team.

Um excuse me? Who allowed Hua Cheng to look like that? This donghua is putting the live action to shame!!

She was unconscious when the sex happened. Morning after, Kris manipulated her to think he wants to date her and take care of her. She was 18 at the time and yeah, she believed that. Predators are pretty charming when they need to be.

Also no, police didn't arrest him based on social media posts. China police doesn't make any arrests until they have solid proof. They have close to 100% conviction rate and with a person like Kris, who has strong influence and known internationally, they need permissions from higher ups, which they wouldn't have gotten without evidence. Also, Kris is Canadian which means it needs to be reported to Canadian embassy so another reason why this arrest is not without evidence. A police officer, not from the same branch of course, explained this on weibo.

From what's been said on weibo, there is video evidence of him raping a 14 year old. The girl was unconscious at that time. Of course, we will never see the evidence so it's up to you to believe what is and what isn't. He will be convicted. There's no doubt about it. It's just a question of when.
