Instead of charts, I think I've and NewJeans should both release city pop songs at the same time so we can fight over what's better. And I get 2 hq songs since Yukika went to God knows where
That's my hope, I absolutely hate when kpop groups do a halloween concept with a song that doesn't resemble halloween! The only title track with a halloween concept that actually reminds me of halloween as far as I can remember is also by a Starship group, Witch by Boyfriend, while the rest are only bsides (Dracula by f(x), Thriller by Monsta X, Red Sun by Dreamcatcher). So I really am hoping for something with a creepier vibe that I can associate with halloween without having to watch the MV. But I'll be satisfied as long as the song is good
Bite Me by Enhypen and Monster by I&S would've been perfect, had they not been released in the heat of summer. Bite Me isn't as good as Witch but it reminded me instantly of it
Yeah I don't have any expectations on how they will do on charts, I had an expectation about how Off The Record would sound so it didn't hit immediately unlike their previous releases, but rn I feel like it's only second to Love Dive to me!! I'd rather Ive do a song that I love that do poorly on charts than a song I dislike that will do well even though I'll be rooting for them cause they deserve it...
Despite the low expectations I can't help but be extremely hyped about Baddie because I feel like it will be a halloween-ish song, the teaser poster, the description of the song (they used words like possession and strangeness) and even the date (friday 13) all point to that and oh do I love anything related to halloween!
And maybe they'll be the first kpop group in years to put out a Halloween anthem during Halloween season and not summer for some dumbass reason

Yerin blithely writing about a serious topic that usually deserving of power ballads (a relationship growing apart) with lighthearted (we'll try our best and get over it" way and dreamy just kind of speaks to a somewhat emotionally atrophied me. Everything is fine as long as we don'ttake itsuper serious. And that's just kind of been my motto for the last few years, and it's been very helpful for me.
Maybe it's Not Our Fault isn't my favorite song by Yerin but it's undoubtedly her most beautiful and probably the most beautiful kpop song I've ever heard
There's nothing wrong with her showing off her body more, no matter who it's catering to.
But she seems to think boobs will fix everything and it won't, which is why she's not seeing the same (and right) kind of vitality that Exid, Hyosung, Sunmi, Lee Hyori and Brave Girls had.
