Does the format of the album matter anymore in terms of sales

  • Previously we always noted how full album sold the most followed by mini and single album would likely sell the least. But since last year I feel like it doesn't matter what the format is, fans will buy no matter what due to the sudden post covid sales boom in kpop. The only thing that I would say still matters as it always have been is global/US distribution which really does boost sales.

  • No it doesn't matter. That's why so many idols are releasing minis these days. Cheaper production, higher profits.

  • it literally doesn't matter,I kinda laugh when people imply it should sell better cuz it's a full album lol. Just look at what bts sold with that butter single or lisa and rose outselling almost all ggs with theirs
