    JYP has had people like Suzy who were by far their favorite. Suzy is a visual, not the best dancer of her group, not a decent vocalist. So no, JYP's favorites aren't what you say and include visuals

    Overall, what the main favorite usually have in common for all those 4 companies - and probably other companies too - is that the most favorited are either the most popular ones, or the ones that have/had the most potential to become the most popular ones.

    YG's favorites are actually not main rappers but more like all-rounders that are marketable. And the most important thing is that they have to represent YG brand and YG trusts them to be loyal to the company.


    It's easy to spot who their favorites are as they always get the first dip on solo. GD, Bom (yes Bom was the favorite back then, not CL), Mino, Bobby, Jennie, Yedam. As you can see, it's not always the rappers that are more favored.

    Yeah that's why I said that. Jennie, gd and mino have really similar vibe and all are going to stick around with yg for a while.

    You forgot the most important bit - rich and influential parents. You'll never see a poor kid as a kpop company fave. Only hack around that is to be an industry kid since you were in diapers.

    Taeyong and Mark were the ones in NCT that were SM's most favorite, and they were main rappers (and among the main dancers) and Taeyong was the face of the group - but both were definitely not the main visuals of NCT.

    By definition Yeonjun can sing, rap and dance and does pretty well in all these areas. So yes, he's an all-rounder. And he's more all-rounded technically because obv he can rap when some other groups don't even have a member who can rap.

    Being an idol also means setting good examples and besides, it doesn't mean the idols don't have talents or skills. As a long-term investment, a company would want their idols to remain long in the industry than be broken with scandals which would affect the group. A friendly artist doesn't mean they can't be entertaining lol

    I agree with your other points but taeyong is one of the visual in nct and many people including me consider him the main visual in nct.

    SM: Visuals (when we refer to center position)

    JYP: Someone who represents the concept of JYP (not necessarily has to be all-rounder, but visuals play a part)

    YG: Main rapper and stage presence (usually)

    Hybe: All-rounder (yes, they usually fave someone who can sing, rap and dance decently)
